MLTY 303 Spring Semester 2015 Syllabus Office: Faculty Suites, Strom Thurmond Building Contact Information: [email protected]/ 863-7270 Office Hours: 120 Strom Thurmond Bldg., Office Hours: 1100-1200 M/W. Course Description: This is an online survey course of American Military History from Pre-Revolutionary War days to the present. We will discuss the evolution of the US Armed Forces with a primary emphasis on the US Army. Attendance: Class is conducted in an online environment. Students are expected to log into CSU Blackboard weekly and keep up with class assignments. Weekly Discussion Forums: There will be a weekly forum that entries will be posted weekly as well. All new Discussion Forums will be posted the week before they are due. Announcements will be sent to students along with links to content areas. All Discussion Forum submissions are due no later than the Sunday of the week assigned. Weekly grades will be posted online on a scale of 0-5 on Discussion Forum content. Exams and Quizzes: Quizzes will be assigned after specific topics such as: American Revolutionary War; Civil War; World War I and World War II. All exams and quizzes are posted to Blackboard before due date. You will be required to download Respondus Lockdown Browser in order to take the Midterm and Final Exams. Written Battle Analysis: Written Battle Analysis Assignment is due in April. The format is on the attached document in Content area. Submit you analysis via Dropbox on the course web site.
