From Your Pastor’s Heart … The College of Prayer, March 8-9. The College of Prayer has a vision to mentor, train, and equip Christians to

reach a lost world through a revived church. We believe that prayer is not the

latest church growth program; rather, it is a way of life. God is pouring out His

Spirit to revive His Church all over the world. He is calling His Church to be a

house of prayer for all nations. Learn more about the College of Prayer

International.

Each session of the College of Prayer will have an element of encountering God

through extended, high worship, Spirit-led prayer, and anointed teaching. We

hope you will join us as we focus on reviving a lifestyle of prayer by asking, “Lord, teach us to pray!” Whether you are

just learning to pray that prayer or whether you have been praying it for years, you will walk away renewed and

empowered. Come join churches from around the Western Arkansas River Valley who are joining together to see a move

of God!

During this upcoming Module we will focus on "Lord, As Families, Teach Us to Pray!" This is for all Christians, single or

married. This will be an incredible time of allowing God to heal our families and inviting His presence into the middle of

our homes!

We will hear powerful teaching from Rev. Jon Mitchell. He has an amazing spirit, heart, and passion for the Kingdom of

God and he desires to see lives ignited by the manifest presence of Christ. For over seven years now he has served as the

Executive Director of the College of Prayer International. He spends his time giving oversight to the growth, traction to

the vision, and traveling extensively to stir revival and teach on prayer wherever he goes.

Why should you attend?

Prayer and Worship - We will encounter God.

Instruction - We will receive life-giving biblical teaching on prayer.

Interaction - We will discuss truth and pray with each other while fostering lasting relationships.

I pray you will join me there! I love you!

HALO REPORT FEBRUARY 10, 2019 Pitchers and catchers report this week which means The Men’s and

Co-ed softball seasons are just around the corner. Don’t think about the

current cold weather right now…think about the spring weather that is on

the horizon. Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow. When

Punxsutawney Phil has stepped up to the plate he has been correct 7 out of

15 times when he has not seen his shadow. That is batting .470. Heritage

needs you to step up and sign up for softball. Contact Mike Kneeland via e-

mail at [email protected] or call 479-719-9274.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

One of our giant Heritage

umbrellas has been missing for

several weeks. Please check to see

if you have accidentally taken it

home with you.

Valley for a time of worship and

about becoming a Chaplain at one

of the areas hospitals.

NEW TO HERITAGE? Join us for the Newcomers’ Dinner

Tuesday, February 19th at 6 pm at

the Kneeland’s. Contact Becki at

[email protected] to

HELP NEEDED FOR WINTER Debbie Thomas is collecting new or

slightly worn jackets, hoodies and

coats for ages 3-18 that will go to

children in our local schools. For

questions, contact Debbie at 651-

0810.

SOCKS DONATIONS Taylor Teague and Lexi Miller are

collecting new pairs of socks for a

school service project. The socks

will be donated to the Heritage

Clothes Closet. Donations can be

dropped off at the church office.

HELP NEEDED Hard to think of gardening in the middle of winter! But think we must! Our

church grounds should be inviting and show the beauty of God's creation!

We want those who come or just drive by to enjoy that beauty. But that

requires work and time to keep the lawn and beds planted, weeded and

watered. It has become too big a job for the two people who have been

doing that and help is needed! If you would be willing to spend any amount

of time this spring and summer we want to hear from you! We will work

with you on the amount of time you have and the tasks you are willing to

undertake. Just call the church office, 474-6424, or email the

[email protected] and ask to be put on the volunteer list and you will

be contacted when we are ready to organize.

STAYCATION No plans for Spring

Break? We are having a

S t a y c a t i o n o n

Wednesday, March 20th

from 10 am - 4 pm. We will stay at

Heritage all day long, but where is

our “vacation?” IT’S A SURPRISE!

Open to kids Kindergarten-5th

grade. Please register online at the

Heritage Childrens Ministry

FaceBook page or by clicking on the

QR code.

Make Jesus Real! Do as I say, not as I do. We have all heard these words and some of us

may have even spoken them. As a former traffic signal guy we had much

better luck training new people by taking them to an intersection and

showing rather than telling them how things worked. I have always been

a visual learner. I can read it over and over but show me once and I

usually get it.

As we focus on discipleship here at Heritage we are very blessed with

many who not only talk about making disciples but if you watch closely they will show us how to carry out

the Great Commission. I really like the phrase “making Jesus real” and will strive to do a better job of that.

We don’t have to be perfect like Jesus to make a difference in someone’s life. A smile, a kind word or just

opening a door are small things that will show we care.

Every day I wear my name tag on my shirt. Not only does it identify me as staff at the church but when I’m

out and about it gives me an opportunity to tell people what we have here at Heritage. The last thing Jesus

told His disciples (“go and make disciples...”) is a clue as to how important this is. As I go through the

Alongsider program it is becoming clear that we all can be disciples that make disciples. It is not an earth

shattering revelation, but simply living your life in a way that shows your love for God and your love for

others. In other words don’t just talk the talk but walk the walk!

Not being a morning person I have only recently been spending my quiet time with the Lord as soon as I

wake up. (Thanks Fish!) This has really been a blessing to me and has strengthened my walk with Him.

Considering the sacrifice He made for me it is a very small thing to spend a little time in the Word before

the day begins. I encourage you to try this...I was encouraged to try it for years before I figured it out what

a difference it makes.

Enough rambling...together let’s go MAKE JESUS REAL in the River Valley!
