Mining, Energy and Utilities Capability Statement Asset intensive industries face similar challenges of many organisations with rising costs and many market factors out of their control. However they also need to be able to manage other factors such as large, geographically dispersed skilled workforces, operating and maintaining mission critical (typically expensive) remote assets and increased societal expectations around sustainable practice. This situation presents many challenges, from optimising workforces to mitigating the impact of unplanned events. Poor management decisions can increase costs and negatively impact profit. Organisations are continually challenged to find solutions to these complex issues. Many of the solutions involve technology. No company in this sector is immune to this trend with significant strategic focus and large investments being made daily by organisations operating in mining, telecommunications, government, water and electricity utilities. Our assessment is that organisations need a proven partner with a track record in these sectors, one whom they can establish a trusted relationship, a partner flexible enough to meet their specific needs, but with a deep understanding of this constantly evolving arena. Integral staff work hard at developing relationships in order to get the best client outcomes. Our consultants keep pace with technology trends and tools and many have been involved in Mining, Energy and Utilities projects for over 10 years. www.integraltech.com.au Certified & awarded. Since 2012 we’ve won 3 international, 1 national and 2 state awards.

Higher Education Capability StatementThe higher education sector is no different to any other industry, it exists for their clients and must attract

and retain their students by keeping abreast of contemporary methods of engagement. Integral has a track

record of delivering successful projects across many industries. Within the higher education sector, our

experience enables us to provide solutions which significantly improve the ‘student experience’.

In 2014 Integral and Griffith University received a Global Data Integration Innovation Award for enhancing

the Griffith University Enrolments Application. This award complements others which Integral has won since

2012 across various industry sectors and specialist technology areas.

Mining, Energy and Utilities Capability Statement

Bechtel were engaged by BHP Billiton then BMA Coal, to build 2 new greenfield mines at Moranbah in Central Queensland. The mines were named Daunia and Caval Ridge.

Bechtel had engaged CSC as the prime contractor for the majority of Information Management Systems for the mines (including core network/server infrastructure), whilst other vendors such as Lend Lease, Minesite Technologies, Sedgman and Hastings Deering being responsible for many other technology-related deliverables.

Integral’s role was to plan and execute packages of work to deliver this core infrastructure. The work involved liaison between remote Bechtel teams, BHPB, sub-contractors and the careful management of various interdependencies, maintenance of scope and all the while ensuring conformance to standards. This work also required specific adherence to Bechtel Engineering Procurement, Construction and Maintenance processes.

ENERGEX had a low level automation system in place for its field workers that was not handling the increased quantity of data or providing sufficient accuracy or speed of delivery to the field.

The solution used Field Force Automation (FFA) technology, implemented with the latest release of the Service Suite solution from Ventyx/ABB and incorporated the integration of a number of ENERGEX’s host systems.

ENERGEX crews now locate faults in the network faster than ever before through satellite navigation, tracking and dispatch. The reduction in phone calls, travel time and paper helps increase efficiency significantly during storms and other peak periods. Millions of people across more than 25,000 square kilometres throughout South East Queensland and northern New South Wales now benefit from the new system that provides faster response times and more accurate information to field crews.

Integral’s role in this project was to integrate the Ventyx/ABB Service Suite FFA technology with the existing ENERGEX host systems. This was a particularly rewarding project for Integral as it extensively used our integration methodologies, intellectual property and best practice based approaches, to build a robust and scalable Service Orientated Architecture based solution. Integral’s work included analysis, design and implementation of the Oracle Fusion Middleware based architecture, using Integral’s in house Integration Methodology (IIM) and industry standard architectural models. Integral was also responsible for project managing the actual integration project.

Integral was retained by Stanwell Power Corporation to improve the efficiency of their Financial Management processes in order to reduce time, cost, complexity and manual handling and error rates. The basis of our engagement was the delivery and management of Stanwell’s strategic integration platform, and integration of key corporate systems.

Stanwell’s core financial system received updated information from source systems processing; People Management (HR) and Energy Trading activities, either manually or via a series of complex uploads. Integral leveraged the Integral Integration Methodology (IIM) to facilitate a series of workshops and to select a suitable integration platform. From these workshops, Integral successfully designed and built a seamless integration solution to gain the efficiencies required by Stanwell. This solution is now jointly supported by Stanwell and Integral. Integral has since commenced work on other initiatives including Learning and Development and Safe Systems of Work.

Integral was engaged by SPARQ (shared service provider to Ergon and Energex) to establish SPARQ’s integration capability and specifically to provide SOA enablement and increase SPARQs OSIMM maturity. The services which Integral provided to SPARQ included:

> Establishing an Integration/SOA capability or Centre of Excellence (COE) to support Integration initiatives within SPARQ. This incorporated a change program that implemented the people, process and technical capabilities required to establish the COE and included leadership and governance of the integration team during the COE establishment process.

> Establishing a plan to increase the SOA maturity of SPARQ to achieve a maturity level between 3 and 5 on the OSIMM Industry Standard maturity model. This plan focused on improved governance, revised tools, enhanced methodologies and increased operational efficiencies.

> Delivery of the artefacts required to establish the integration/SOA capability and achieve the required OSIMM maturity level ranging from SOA Reference Architecture, standard patterns through to the Analysis of the future integration requirements, capacity analysis of the SOA platform and the physical design for the platform required to support the future integration requirements within SPARQ.

QUU went to market seeking to appoint an integration services implementation partner to deliver a number of outcomes, the basis of which was the design and architecture of an integration platform. Integral was successful in being selected by QUU as their Integration Partner. Key elements of the engagement included the design, sizing and implementation of the Integration Platform in alignment with the logical solution architecture, security architecture and policies. Subsequent delivery included the enablement of several integration services for QUUs Ellipse ERP and GIS platforms. Integral was responsible for the overall project management of the solution including the development of support documentation and successful handover of the various solutions to the Application Support vendor.

Arrow Energy

Integral provided assistance to Arrow Energy with the migration of data from a number of source systems to SAP, in particular to support the Contract and Procurement area of the business. This assignment had extremely tight timeframes as the scheduled go-live was for April and the team was not on site until February. There was education necessary for the wider Arrow and Shell implementation team as to the approach necessary, and also testing which would be required to ensure a smooth transition to the new systems. Resources within the Arrow business were extremely hard to secure and the Integral team needed to work closely with the Arrow team to ensure completion of a number of critical tasks.

Integral’s approach for completing the data migration was to conduct an initial analysis phase. This analysis phase provided insight into Arrow Energy’s migration requirements including source systems, source data formats, master data requirement, SAP components, data transformation and cleansing requirements. This planning process identified the effort involved, the resources and skill sets required and any tools that could be leveraged to optimise the migration process.

The migration was conducted on time and as originally planned. All datasets were included and the new SAP system was initialised as planned.
