This book includes activities to help you integrate the opera into your curriculum Most of these activities appear in sections devoted to specific components of the curriculum; some, however, are described in a separate section called RELATED LEARNING EXPERIENCES The musical score, the lyrics, a CD, and a bibliography are also included Hopefully, these materials will help you develop your own Three Nanny Goats Gruff opera Each teacher should determine how to use these materials and allocate time based on the needs of a particular class It is important to remember that this project is to be enjoyed by both the teacher and the students

The teaching materials include a CD Tracks 1-10 contain the words to each song, and tracks 11-25 have only the accompanying music Put the CD and a CD player in a reading or quiet corner The children will enjoy listening to the CD while reading the story This will also allow them to learn the music in a comfortable atmosphere

It will be helpful to give the children an opportu-nity to listen to the accompaniment tracks of the CD They can listen to the music to help them imagine the movements of the characters in the opera
