Plans for Next Year: Agenda Setting for a New Topic

• PR for SOF 2009• Closer cooperation with other Nodes, especially within framework of EU-Projects Iknow and INFU•Proposal for Marie-Curie funding (scholars exchange) with Finnish and UK Node in 2010

NEW PROJECT STARTED ALREADY•After trying a new methodological approach (Tech Survey 2007), we wanted to go for new topics this year:

– From March - May 2008 we collected topics, which we believe to be important, but which have no room in the everyday future business

– In June we selected a set of ideas, which we thought to be interesting– The next step is to work on an implementation plan for 1-2 ideas

•Chosen Ideas so far:– Nodes are “mirrored” by other Nodes / challenge each other in terms of the future they see for

the each other • Example: “What do you – from an outsider perspective - believe is a unique future

opportunity or challenge for the country / region XY?” or “Which future development do you see for country / region XY, which is probably not yet seen by the country itself?”

– Topics for an article or study: „The Ecology of Time“ or „Ethics of Life Enhancement & Immortality“

– Innovation or future project with (mentally) challenged • Innovation beyond standards - joint development of a universal design product • Joint future studies on e.g. „Threatened and emerging handicaps“
