Why a course on Muslim chaplaincy? Muslims are now part o the religious and
cultural landscape o Britain. As with other communities, they are aected by a
number o social problems in all areas o society.
Te need is growing or Muslim chaplains in schools, higher and urther education,
health services (hospitals and hospices), social welare, prisons, the police, the armed
orces and industry. As Muslims become an integral part o society, the development
and availability o strong institutional pastoral and spiritual provision becomes
essential.
