OT MIDLAND CLUB ANNUAL DINNER Saturday 20 th February 2010 7.00pm for 7.30pm NEW VENUE – The Alveston Manor Hotel Clopton Bridge, STRATFORD-UPON-AVON Dear Old Tauntonian I extend a warm invitation to our Annual Dinner at The Alveston Manor. This is a new venue for the Midland Club and the Hotel has a 4 star rating being situated in a quiet location but within a very short walking distance of the town centre. The Hotel has ample car parking and, whilst the cost of the 3 course dinner is £38 inc VAT, each of the 3 courses includes a selection of 3 dishes. We have provisionally reserved a number of rooms at the Hotel for those who prefer the convenience. The cost of a Double Room including a full English Breakfast is £124 inc VAT and a Single Room (single occupancy) but with a Double Bed is £107 inc VAT. Guests can also take advantage of the hotels 18 metre length indoor Swimming Pool, Fitness Room, Sauna, Steam Room. Full details of the Hotel can be appreciated by visiting www.MacdonaldHotels.co.uk/Alveston Accommodation is widely available in the town, with numerous hotels and bed and breakfast establishments. For those who may wish to stay an extra night on say either Friday or Sunday, the cost of a double room for the 2 nights bed and breakfast is £238, and for a single room £200. The cost of Dinner, should you choose to dine at the Hotel, would be approximately £30 per person for 3 courses including coffee. There is plenty of interest in the immediate area of Stratford, some good quality shops, Golf courses, Shakespeare Houses and Museum, Charlecote Park (Nat Trust). Kenilworth has the ruins of its Castle (English Heritage) and the recently completed Elizabethan Garden. Warwick has its Castle (EH) which is fully furnished and outstanding. Gaydon, just off the M42 Junction 12, is home to the Heritage Motor Museum. Coventry in addition to its Cathedral also has two vehicle museums, The Jaguar National Trust, Browns Lane, and the Coventry Transport Museum.
