A stable stand is indispensible!

When purchasing a microscope, there is another factor alongside image quality and resolution that should be carefully considered - the integrity of the mechanical mounting and the associated user experience. If the mechanism is not stable, any slight vibration of the table, or touching of the camera may be sufficient to alter the image or the focus.

Furthermore, with todays users often using micro-scopes for prolonged periods, ergonomics and user comfort have never been more important.

Here at Opto, we have been specialising in designing and manufacturing high quality, universal microscope mechanics and ergonomic accessories specifically for microscope users for over 30 years.

Focus Drives

Focus drives are devices that enable optical devices to be effortlessly moved up and down with precision via a hand wheel. Coaxial drive knobs make the combine coarse and fine focus operations on one knob. Fine drives enable accurate positioning at high magnifications, whereas coarse drives enable rapid refocusing when required.

Koehler allows homogeneous illumination and increased control over the contrast and depth of field of the image. This is achived by a system of lenses and irises, which give precise control over the shape of the light entering the microscope.

Manual Stages

Our measuring stages are compact and very flexible in use. With accuracyup to 0.01 mm, all stages are black hard coated and feature 4 M5 threads to mount the stages onto flat surfaces or tables. For the control of large flat samples, e.g. large electronic boards, we recommend the use of gliding stages.

The gliding stage is lockable in both directions with integrated screws. The construction is solid and the movement is smooth and precise. Our Kniegelenke (German for knee joint or jointed coupler) are used for precise and reliable fixation of cameras, illuminations, sensors or optical accessories. Objective Accessories

Over the last 37 years we have solved many challenging adaptions of Microscope Objectives onto Microscopes or Machines. The Objective slider allows the mounting of different magnification Stereoobjectives or an objective with Ringlight and one without to rapidly change illumination conditions. The Magnetic coupler is a perfect accessory to hot swap objective lenses on a compound Microscope where an objective changer is too big or in a machine integration where an objective must be changed frequently.

Targets + Add Ons

The Opto Targets enable the calibration of measurement functions in microscopes. The Particle Target consists of a field of objects in different forms and sizes allow the user to check: rectangles, ellipses, circles, rings and even fibre-shaped objects. To determine optical distortions there are three different sized arrays of cross-targets. The smallest object is as small as 5 μm. On the Calibration target there are unique structures of minimal size, for example a 1000 LP/mm setup or the Siemens star for microscopic use.

100-CS-1 Optic Cleaning Set

Smalldust“specks”areannoying,wastetimeandcaninterferewithdetailedlabora-tory work. These tiny particles are difficult to remove from microscope and camera lenses, viewfinders and optical instruments. The cleaning kit includes an anti-static lens and optics brush, an anti-static microfibre cleaning cloth, precision cleaning solution to remove oil and residue, and a special tool for picking up dust specks.
