● MHMS - Under the new guidelines, students will have additional access to cell phone usage beginning 2nd Semester.

● Students will be permitted to use cell phones during hallway / transition times and their lunch period (including recess).

● Begins January 22, 2014 (Wednesday).

What this will look like at MHMS:

● Checking the time/date while walking to class

● Listening to music with earphone during recess

What this will look like at MHMS:

● Reading a text message from a parent during class change

● Checking online for information related to a class assignment during lunch

Important Information:

• Cell phones cannot be used during instructional times

• Students must follow class and school rules as well as all relevant HCPSS policies. Examples: Reporting to class on time, following staff directions

Important Information:

• Any communication with parents regarding health issues (i.e. headache, stomach ache, etc.) must come through the Health Room.

● It is a violation of the HCPSS Student Code of Conduct to exhibit irresponsible and unacceptable use of electronic devices during the school day (ex. cyberbullying).

• Taking pictures, recording audio and/or video is prohibited.

• Will result in confiscation of the device.
