Is it SIMILE, METAPHOR, or ALLEGORY?-- Carl the Cat disliked Duke the Dog very much because he was tall and his breath stunk a little. Carl didn’t like having Duke around & he made up excuses to eat lunch by himself. He even scratched Duke’s face once when Duke came to visit. One day when Carl was almost run over by a car, Duke jumped into the street & pushed Carl out of the way. Carl was forever grateful that Duke had saved his life. The two became best friends &, since, have eaten lunch together every day.

It is an ALLEGORY.-- This story is an allegory because the cat & dog represent a bully & a victim. When the victim does something heroic to rescue the bully, the two become great friends.

Carl the Cat = BullyDuke the Dog = Victim

It’s a story of becoming friends!
