In the strictest meaning of the work, a Medium is a channel of communication.
Media is the plural of Medium, and simply refers to more than onechannel of communication.
The Media also refers to the industries which produce media products such as newspapers, films, the internet, television and computer games.

You love television, film and popular culture whats hot and whats not.Please watch more television, films, adverts!
You love to discuss new game-shows, sitcoms, video games then discuss their appeal.
You read lots of different magazines and newspapers regularly.
You watch award shows like the Soap Awards or Oscars.
Youre interested in trends in society.
You want to design storyboards, new newspapers, film and edit movie trailers.
You might want to work in the media in the future or study this at college or university.

This Unit is worth 50% of the course. (80 marks).

Two Sections: A three compulsory questions on unseen stimulus pieces
B one essay from a choice of two topics.

P1 (50 Minutes) This lesson will always be learning about a Media Theory in preparation for Section A of the examination.
Its vital you keep these notes to hand to use for revision in the summer.
You will study more complex media theories and debates than AS Media. (Semiotics, Marxism, Genre Theories).

You will choose a representation and an aspect of digital media to study they should all be different.
You will then use your notes and research to answer questions in the exam.
