“Blast Elkdom Into The Future.”

“State President”Carl Gerace

Message from the Exalted Ruler Sisters and brothers,

It is a great time of the year in Delray Beach with the summer weather breaking and the holiday season soon to be upon us. Welcome back to all our friends from northern climes. We’ve missed you and are glad to see you again. While you were away a lot has happened in our Lodge. The most obvious is that

we started the long overdue renovation of our Lodge. It has served us well for many decades but is worn out and in need of major repairs. Significant progress has been made in the west wing and pool room. The lounge now is almost twice as large and is an open modern design which will be carried through the bar as soon as practical.

We also ducked a major bullet with hurricane Irma. The rear patio roof was destroyed and we are working with our insurance carrier to get an appropriate settlement. We are also considering a couple of new roof alternatives to cover the area and make it more welcoming. A part of the overall thinking is how we should address the patio grill. We should have these answers nailed down by the time you read the next newsletter.

Please stop by the Lodge this month to enjoy some hospitality and camaraderie. The Queen of Hearts Raffle is going strong and the food we serve on guest chef Monday’s is without equal. Also spaghetti night and wing night are popular favorites. Of course, the burgers and hot dogs served on Sunday are outstanding. Why don’t you come out and join in the charitable work we do, have a good meal and enjoy the company of fellow Elks?

God Bless our Lodge, God Bless our Troops and God Bless America.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Mike Sinneck
