Message from Principal Norman… Dear Families,
March signifies the start of a busy academic season! Second semester is well underway
and there are many items to be mindful of. To begin, juniors will be taking the SAT on Saturday,
March 14th. Don’t forget to confirm which campus your student is testing at and to review all the
guidelines for test check-in. Juniors will not have to miss any of their concurrent enrollment
courses due to the Saturday testing date. To help prep students for testing, SAGE Affordable
Tutoring will be providing after school SAT test prep every Tuesday from 3:30 pm-5:00 pm in
room 253, at no cost to D11 students through their testing date. Khan Academy is another
personalized test prep tool that juniors can utilize. If you have any questions regarding SAT
testing or are running into any issues, please reach out to Dr. Lamphere.
We have had a snowy winter this school year. Odyssey ECCO still has “snow day” time
to access. The state of Colorado has granted School District 11 a time waiver if we incur more
snow days past our banked snow day time. This waiver means there is no need to make schedule
arrangements outside of what we have done to date. Although students have Spring Break on
their minds, please be aware that March is typically our snowiest month of the year. Please pay
attention to your D11 Loop app, social media, and email for updates about any closures or
delays.
Finally, I encourage you and your students to have a restful Spring Break! Students work
so hard and need a chance to get away from the academic hustle. We recognize that it takes
dedication for students to complete an associate's degree while in high school, hence it is
equally important for your student to unwind and relax after working so hard. Spring break
serves as that chance to rest and get ready to finish up the remainder of the semester.
Sincerely,
Sean Norman

FFA – Future Farmers of America
Two FFA state officers, Alex Vieselmeyer
and Brooke Corliss of Colorado FFA
visited the Odyssey ECCO FFA chapter
on February 14, 2020. This was a yearly
visit that state officers make to various
FFA chapters all over the state. Eleven
out of the fifteen members of FFA
attended the meeting. The officers
conducted a one-hour workshop that
was full of very exciting activities. The
activities which were meant to help
members develop leadership skills
mainly focused on self confidence and
future planning strategies. They all
participated in games that helped them
learn how to develop SMART goals.

Senior Yearbook Photos are DUE!!
Please send your senior picture to Mrs.
Banfield ASAP. Many of you did not take an
ID photo for Odyssey ECCO, so if you don’t
turn in a Senior Picture, you will NOT appear
in the yearbook. Additionally, if you need
someone to take your picture, contact Mrs.
Banfield and one of her students can help.

2020 Census
The 2020 census count will be how the Federal government determines the
amount of money that will be given to our schools for the next ten years.
Most of the programs funded from the count are for serving our students
living in low-income households and students with disabilities. Historically
the ten-year census has undercounted populations in large urban areas like
ours, and we would like to work towards making sure our community is
properly funded with an accurate count. Everyone counts.
