AS 60076 Power Transformers

AS 1767 Insulating Liquids Specification for Unused Mineral Insulating Oils for Transformers & Switchgear

AS 2374 Power Transformers

Note: All materials and components shall comply with the relevant Australian Standard or, where these do not exist, with the relevant IEC or EN Standard.

5.2 Latest Issues and Amendments Reference to all standards shall be read as a reference to the latest edition of that standard and amendments available at the time of tendering.

6 Background The Transformer will be used for the purpose of converting power from the 400V output of a dual convertor UPS to the Essential Services Distribution System or Signal Power Distribution System voltage for Essential Services purposes.

The Essential Services Distribution System standard is a 3.3kV three phase 50Hz system, in phase with the 22kV system.

Other legacy signal power distribution systems exist, including:

• 2.2kV single phase, 50 Hz, two wire unearthed, in phase with 22kV white-blue phase

• 1kV three phase, 50 Hz, earthed, leading 22kV system by 30 degrees

• 650V single phase, 50 Hz, two wire unearthed, in phase with 22kV white-blue phase

Due to the varied installations, a scope of works document will detail specific requirements including but not limited to:

• Secondary Voltage (or equivalent table of ratings to that shown in section 9)

• Rated Power

• Indoor or outdoor installation

• Type of primary and secondary terminals required

• Oil insulated or dry type

The Essential Services Step Up Transformer forms part of the Essential Services Power Supply system, as shown in Figure 1.

7 General Requirements The Transformer shall be designed and manufactured to give the highest level of reliability whilst requiring the minimum level of maintenance under continuous operating conditions.
