Steubenville South / Life Teen CampIt is that time of year again where life-changing conferences and camps are ofered for our high schoolers! For the past 20 years, the Steubenville South Conferences (June 26-28 Alexandria, LA) has served over 70,000 youth of our region, helping them to find the true love of God in Jesus Christ. Camp Hidden Lake is a week-long Catholic summer camp located in scenic Dahlonega, Georgia (July 26-August 2). It is a place where parish youth groups from all over the country come together to dive deeper into their Catholic faith and strengthen their relationship with Christ, while having unforgettable experiences.
With prayerful consideration, we encourage you to sponsor a high schooler for either the Steubenville South Conference or Camp Hidden Lake. While any donation is greatly appreciated, we ask that you would consider a donation of $250 for the Steubenville South Conference and $500 for Camp Hidden Lake. We also ask that you would keep us in prayer, entrusting us to the Immaculate Heart and Merciful Heart of Our Lady.

!e sanctuary light in the Adoration Chapel burns this week in loving memory of Connor Childress
Altar Flowers Memorial!e Altar Flowers are dedicated this week in loving memory of Elaine Robinson.
Memorial GiftsAt the death of a loved one, many choose in lieu of flowers to encourage friends and family to make a donation to a special charity or cause. Our Lady of Mercy has nourished the spiritual life of so many parishioners and those throughout the Diocese who come here. A Memorial GiF to our parish and school is a wonderful way to acknowledge the lives of our beloved dead with a giF of loving generosity to the church that has been such a spiritual home. Ms. Deanie Smith can discuss beautiful ways for you to remember your loved one.

ADORATION CHAPEL
SAINT OF THE WEEK
St. Rita of Cascia (1381-1457)
FEAST DAY: May 22
Like Elizabeth Ann Seton, Rita of Cascia was a wife, mother, widow and member of a religious community. Her holiness was reflected in each phase of her life.
Born at Roccaporena in central Italy, Rita wanted to become a nun but was pressured at a young age into marrying a harsh and cruel man. During her 18-year marriage, she bore and raised two sons. AQer her husband was killed in a brawl and her sons had died, Rita tried to join the Augustinian nuns in Cascia. Unsuccessful at first because she was a widow, Rita eventually succeeded.
Over the years, her austerity, prayerfulness and charity became legendary. When she developed wounds on her forehead, people quickly associated them with the wounds from Christ’s crown of thorns. She meditated frequently on Christ’s passion. Her
care for the sick nuns was especially loving. She also counseled lay people who came to her monastery.
Beatified in 1626, Rita was not canonized until 1900. She has acquired the reputation, together with St. Jude, as a saint of impossible cases. Many people visit her tomb each year.
