Workshop-based Materials Processing:

CRANES & LOGISTICS

Logistic services include Wet Hire, Contract hardstand, Contract wet hire at DBCT. Bowen: Wet (and dry) crane-hire and logistics support at Port & mine-sites.

Bucket Fabrication

Coal Dragline Bucket Fabrication at Melco Engineering’s Paget facility. Melco Engineering fabricates Coal Dragline Buckets for CQMS Razer P/L under an exclusive Manufacturing Agreement.

Bucket Repair & Overhaul

Coal Dragline Bucket Overhaul at Melco Engineering’s Paget and Bowen facilities. Melco Engineering has a Dragline Bucket Refurbishment contract with BMA. Rio Tinto, Glencore and Mining Contractors also contract Melco Engineering for Dragline Bucket repairs and other heavy-engineering services.

MaterialsHandling: ROM

Lake Vermont Mine ROM structure. Melco Engineering fabricated, installed and constructed two ROM structures during FY10 - FY12 for the Thiess Sedgman JV. Project value was $3.0m.

Heavy Fabrication

Stacker Reclaimer sub-structure. Melco Engineering fabricated the large-scale structure for the Abbott Point Coal Terminal in FY2010, via the prime contractor G&S.

MaterialsHandling:Load-Out Bin

Minerva Coal Mine rail-loading plant and Load Out Bin supporting structure. Melco Engineering fabricated, installed and constructed components for the 3,200 tph coal rail-loading plant and 250t Load Out Bin supporting structure.

Storage Vessels

Ammonium Nitrate Emulsion Silo used for the storage, transport and decanting of Ammonium Nitrate emulsion. Melco Engineering fabricated the 200 tonne and 300 tone Mobile Emulsion Silos in 2012 for the BMA Saraji mine.

Dragline Boom Point

Fabricate, surface treat and deliver UDD Dragline Boom Points for BMA. Melco Engineering has fabricated Boom Points for BMA’s Blackwater mine and other coal operations.

Materials Handling Equipment

Sonoma Mine, Train Load-out Bin and support structures for Sedgman. Melco Engineering fabricated and installed the TLO Bin and structures. Project value $2.6m.

Stacker Reclaimer Bucket Wheel

Fabrication of Bucket Wheel for ThyssenKrupp. Bucket Wheels are components of the large Stacker/Reclaimer materials handling equipment at coal ports.

Bulk Storage Facilities

Bulk Sand Storage units to store sand used for Locomotive Braking systems. Client was Aurizon (QR). Melco Engineering fabricated, installed and commissioned the units in Bowen in 2012.
