They included a translucent layover sign in page to give a sneak peek of their homepage. A brilliant way to get us to Sign Up!

Most online users have twitter these days. Offering quick, one-click sign up options through Social Media Accounts plugs you into the daily lives of your users and get them

to the good stuff fast.

Give people a clear reason to sign up for your service. Not everyone who comes to your site has an idea of what it is about.

If you don’t have a Twitter Account…

…do remember to include other

options, including the option to sign up through Email!

Don’t worry about getting every page group on the top nav bar. Keep it uncluttered.

Featured Tags are a great way to get people to click on topics they are interested in.

Have clear CTA buttons that would get people to take action on your website. Having it on your homepage, before the fold, means people will immediately know how they can interact with your product.

Top stories are great to guide users attention to discover more stories. But it’s not clear how this is different from the main feed on the left.

Remember this side banner?

If you continuously scroll down, the page cuts off the words at the top of the banner. But this still leaves the CTA button visible as you scroll. Nifty.
