MEDIEVAL KNIGHT
Becoming a knight was part of the vassalage. In return for military service, the knight received a
fief. It was terribly expensive to be a knight. The war horse alone could cost all of a work's life.
Armor, shields, and weapons were also very expensive.
Glossary: Knight.- Caballero. Vassalage.- Vasallaje. Fief- feudo.
Exercises:
1- Find in the drawing: Helm, chainmail, lance, knight, squire.
2- Which ones are the noble. And which one is the peasant.
3- In the next page, identify
a) The NOBLE couple.
b) The PEASANTS couple.
c) The CLERGY couple.
d) The KING.
4- Colour the drawings. Take on account....
* Peasants used only grey and brown colours.
* Noblemen used warm colours, like red, yellow. They used blue and purple too.
