PATIENT COMFORT

WARD ILLUMINANCE

Eagle lighting Australia’s recommended ward lighting scheme combines bedhead mounted up/downlights with ceiling mounted downlights to give maximum flexibility. Lighting can be patient controlled to maximise comfort with central override for staff to pre-set configurations.

PATIENT COMFORT

For the optimum blend of patient comfort and ease of maintenance, offset asymmetric lighting is ELA’s preferred solution to achieve a uniform 200 lux in corridors.

CENTRALLY MOUNTED

This can cause overhead glare and discomfort as patients are moved along hospital streets and corridors.

OFFSET TO THE SIDE

Overhead glare is significantly reduced with a recessed luminaire fitted with an asymmetric specular reflector.

IMPROVING EFFICIENCY

Corridors are as important as any other area of a hospital, so the same considerations of patient comfort, staff effectiveness and logistical efficiency apply. Lighting design needs to address all these issues, while the practical demands of cleaning and maintenance also come into play.

The Cleanroom Security range of fixtures has been developed to meet the requirements of specialist installations, where a fully sealed luminaire is needed to prevent contamination of the secure environment.

Having a clean and secure environment does not negate the need for excellent light control. With Secureroom SLB we have incorporated the Penta G2 Miro 5 louvre fixed into the frame for increased luminance and glare control.

Suitable for diverse applications such PC2 laboratories, hospitals, psychiatric wards, police stations, high security, pharmaceutical manufacturing areas and applications where a clean and secure environment is required.

Our Operating Theatre Light luminaires have been developed as a unique solution, meeting the requirements of specialist operating theatre installations, where a fully sealed luminaire is needed to prevent contamination of the secure environment.

This range has been engineered specifically for hospitals, emergency and veterinarian operating theatres.

OPTIONS:

+ Available in an IP44 Cleanroom, or IP65 Secureroom configuration, with bottom or ceiling access.

+ T5 or T8 lamp options in single or multiple configurations.

+ Operating Theatre Light can be installed with separate switching/dimming depending on requirements.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

EXAMPLE LAYOUTS Adapted from our highly successful Cleanroom and Secureroom range of luminaires, the Operating Theatre Light has been specifically developed to meet the demanding requirements of the theatre environment.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

+ Together with an EPDM gasket, swing-out installation brackets negate the need for a silicon sealant around the fixture in the ceiling. EPDM rubber foam is a closed cell gasket, ensuring a high IP-rating. At less than 10% compression this returns a 100% water tightness. The low-memory nature of the material ensures it will always return to its original shape.

+ Overlapping design construction, provides this system with a continuous seal around the perimeter of the installation.

+ UV-stablised, acrylic diffuser options contribute to the overall IP65-rating, and are easily cleaned and maintained. When compared with polycarbonate options, our acrylic diffuser is resistant to hospital-grade cleaners.

+ By combining the acrylic diffuser with the multi-directional IP-rating of the Operating Theatre Light, the result is a luminaire that meets the tough standards required for a PC2 environment.

+ One of the features of meeting the PC2 standard is that zero contaminants can enter the luminaire - including from inside the ceiling cavity. This means the luminaire achieves high maintenance intervals.

+ A removeable gear tray allows for easy installation and maintenance.

Designed and manufactured in Melbourne, Australia, the Operating Theatre Light has many unique features and capabilities, but most importantly offers a diverse range of options to suit applications with different constraints and requirements. Consult with your local ELA Representative to discuss your needs.

The above example layouts demonstrate how the Operating Theatre Light system can be installed to create a fully sealed, contaminant-free environment. Example A. demonstrates a full theatre installation, utilising Corner modules, Example B. shows a single run making use of Start and End modules.

AURELED VISTAA slimline LED luminaire with a printed acrylic diffuser suitable for recessed mounting and T-bar ceilings.

The Aureled Vista has been developed with healthcare enivronments in mind. The Aureled Vista is available with a range of different imagery designed to promote a relaxing and reassuring environment for patients.

Using creative lighting solutions creates a non-institutional feel that puts patients at ease and makes it more likely that they relax and focus on healing.

The Aureled Vista can be a focal and discussion point for young children undergoing medical examinations. By giving patients something to concerntrate on they are less likely to become agitated.

Designed and constructed with a shallow 45mm profile the Aureled will slide into confined spaces. Coupled with a detachable gearbox incorporating a plug-and-play connector this luminaire is the perfect solution for locations where there are multiple services installed inside the ceiling space.

Once installed, the gearbox can be detached from the luminaire housing as required whether for upgrading to dimming or maintenance.
