MEDICAL JAPAN 2015: Japan’s first comprehensive

medical trade show concluded with great success!

Press release – (Tokyo, Japan) March 17, 2015 Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd. held MEDICAL JAPAN, the first comprehensive medical trade show in Japan which covered all the products/ services/ technologies for healthcare, clinical testing, diagnostics and medicine, from February 4 to 6, 2015 at INTEX Osaka, Japan. The show consisted of 7 independent exhibitions: 1st [Hospital + Innovation] Expo Japan, 1st International Nursing & Nursing Care Expo (Nursing Expo Japan), 1st Clinical Laboratory & Diagnostics Expo Japan, 1st Regenerative Medicine Expo & Conference Japan, 5th Medical Device Development Expo Osaka (MEDIX OSAKA), 1st Int'l Pharmaceutical R&D and Manufacturing Expo/Conference (INTERPHEX OSAKA), 1st Int'l Pharmaceutical Ingredients Expo & Conference (in-PHARMA OSAKA 2015). Many medical experts and professionals visited MEDICAL JAPAN to seek out fresh business ideas. Various exhibitors launched new products, technologies, and services while making new business relations and negotiating in person. The Grand Opening Ribbon-cutting Ceremony MEDICAL JAPAN opened to great applause with 40 powerful industry executives on stage! On the first day of the show, MEDICAL JAPAN welcomed 40 of the top leaders of hospitals, medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, governmental officials and international organisations on stage as ribbon- cutting dignitaries and celebrated the opening of the event around 1,000 exhibitors and visitors from Japan and all over the world. Cheers and applause rang out from the crowd as Japan's comprehensive medical show opened its door.

Exhibitors showcased healthcare information/remote medical care technologies, hospital facilities, medical supplies, preventive healthcare & healthcare equipment/systems, assisted living products & supplies and home healthcare products at Hospital + Innovation Expo Japan 2015. Medical experts in charge of management/facilities/systems visited this show to discuss introduction of products and technologies. Active negotiations and consultations were conducted everywhere at this trade show covering all the products/services for hospital innovation.

B to B trade show specialised in all the necessary nursing and nursing care products!

All nursing and nursing care products were exhibited at Nursing Expo Japan 2015, including nursing uniforms, nursing goods, nursing bags for home visits, stethoscopes, nursing/nursing care furniture, hygiene products, health care equipment such as medical aspirators and sphygmomanometers, rehabilitation supplies, welfare vehicles, hearing aids, communication support equipment such as emergency reporting systems and guidance systems for the disabled. The majority of visitors were nurses, nursing care workers, rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. The show provided an ideal platform to have fruitful business meetings and expand business in Japan.

B to B trade show specialised in clinical testing and diagnostic technologies!

IVD products & reagents, transport systems, contract services, diagnostic imaging and supplies & accessories for laboratories were all gathered at Clinical Laboratory & Diagnostics Expo Japan 2015. Professionals including technicians/doctors from medical institutions/clinical trial laboratories and medical equipment dealers visited this show to discuss introduction of products and technologies. Active negotiations and consultations were conducted everywhere at this trade show specialised in clinical testing and diagnostic technologies.

B to B trade show specialised in the latest regenerative medicine techniques!

All the products/services to industrialise regenerative medicine including culture media, reagents, incubators, cell research related products, contract services and licensing gathered under one roof. Researchers/doctors from universities, pharmaceutical/cosmetics manufacturers, regenerative medicine/cell therapy related companies and health-care facilities visited this show to discuss introduction of products and technologies. Active negotiations/consultations were conducted everywhere at this trade show specialised in the latest regenerative medicine techniques.

B to B trade show held twice a year specialised in the latest technologies to design & manufacture medical devices!

This specialised exhibition brought together the latest technologies required to design and manufacture medical devices, such as metal/plastic processing technology, manufacturing equipment, equipment components, factory automation technology, measuring technology, image technology, packaging technology and various IT solutions. MEDIX OSAKA attracted a great number of medical device manufacturers who manufacture syringes, thermometers, artificial organs, catheters, MRI systems, patient monitors, etc. and conduct concrete business meetings with them.

INTERPHEX OSAKA was a B to B trade show specialised in pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing which was held in Osaka, the largest city in western Japan. Pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing professionals from all over Japan and around the world visited the show.

Co-held with INTERPHEX OSAKA, in-PHARMA OSAKA was a B to B trade show specialised in pharmaceutical ingredients. Business talks and technical consultations on various topics, such as raw material sourcing strategies and outsourcing contracts, were conducted actively at the site.

Space reservation already piling in for next year A new "on-site exhibit space booking system" was introduced during the show period. Existing and prospective exhibitors were able to complete the contract for the next show - MEDICAL JAPAN 2016. The floor plan for the next show was displayed outside the exhibition halls and applicants chose their preferable booth location on a first-come-first-serve basis. All MEDICAL JAPAN 2016 exhibit spaces are expected to be sold out at an early stage. Below are photographs of the floor plan taken at the reservation counter on the final day of the event. These red squares represent booth spaces that have been already booked.

Latest trends in the industry As well as the 7 exhibitions, 211 technical conference sessions were held in order to provide opportunities for industry leaders to share new technologies, ideas and latest trends.
