Jazz FM plays the world’s greatest jazz, blues and soul, from the world’s greatest artists. Our musical output is unique and is a colourful mixture of truly eclectic new music and well known pieces by the legends of jazz, selected by the UK's finest presenters, each experts in their field. Every night of the week there’s a magical collection of specialist programmes and the legendary Dinner Jazz that is as old as the brand itself – fast approaching it’s 20th anniversary in 2020.

JAZZ FM

The highly rated evening starts with Jazz FM’s Greatest where we celebrate the superstars of jazz – those artists with jazz in their DNA. Dinner Jazz follows with a relaxing and mellow end to the day with classic and new jazz that really allows you to kick off your shoes and enjoy something chilled. Following a trip into the unknown with a selection of feature programmes hosted by experts in their field, Jazz FM Loves follows with romantic and sentimental jazz and soul, hosted by musician China Moses.

EVENINGS ON JAZZ FM

Each weekday evening Jazz FM takes you on a 60-minute musical journey covering important areas in jazz. From live performance to world music, via the vibrant UK jazz scene in True Brit and equally vibrant US scene with TransAtlantic Jazz hosted by multi-Grammy® award winning musician Marcus Miller. We also delve into the archives of the world’s most famous jazz club on the Ronnie Scott’s Radio Show.

THE FEATURE HOUR

Jazz FM was the joint-brains behind the UK’s largest greenfield boutique jazz festival – the annual Love Supreme Jazz Festival – held each summer on the South Coast for which we are a major supporter, continuing to broadcast from the event for the entire festival weekend.

Jazz FM is the go-to partner for various other festivals around the UK. Our presenters have hosted programmes from the world’s largest jazz festivals in St Lucia, the Netherlands (North Sea), New Orleans (Mardi Gras), Oman (Sea Jazz), Ukraine (Leopolis Lviv) and from the homegrown EFG London Jazz Festival.

LISTEN IN COLOUR

Every weekend on Jazz FM is a weekend of musical discovery. Starting Friday night, we devote over 30 hours to the jazz music journey. From pure blues to the greatest cutting-edge contemporary jazz, our curators are the best in the world. Jeff Young brings his years in the music business to fruition every Sunday while Chris Philips, David Freeman, Helen Mayhew, Jez Nelson and Sarah Ward – the famous five from the original Jazz FM launch in 1990 – are still integral with their music selections.

WEEKENDS ON JAZZ FM

One of the highlights of the jazz calendar is the annual Jazz FM Awards ceremony. Held on International Jazz Day, it celebrates both international and UK jazz greatness. Winners include musical royalty such as Rolling Stones, George Benson, Dame Cleo Laine, Pat Metheny, Gregory Porter plus the freshest names in UK jazz such as Nubya Garcia, Ezra Collective and Shabaka Hutchings.
