•common dress – the common dress in rock magazines is dark clothing, but sill quite revealing as I think its targeted at an older audience then pop for example. A lot of dark make up even on men and hair dyed black. Minimal jewellery and ‘bling’ unlike the rap magazines.

•Speech – minimal writing but big headings. References to bands such as Artic Monkeys which will relate to the target market. Also there is abbreviations like in the pop magazine but with more adult content for example ‘wtf’ which includes swear words. There is also a lot of explanation marks which gives a sense of shouting.

•Colours – very dark colour schemes greys and blacks with a few bits of white and red to not look too doom and gloom. There is also a few bright colours such as yellow which contrasts with the colour scheme and make it more easy to read.

•Fonts – bold capital letters used through out which looks eye catching and hard .Mainly sticking to plain fonts but sometimes using font that looks smashed up and shattered for example the Kerrang title which gives a sense of the culture of the music being portrayed.
