Transitions We also learned about different types oftransitions: Cut when a piece of film is divided and joinedto another piece Dissolve when one image gradually comes outand another image (or black screen) graduallycomes in Wipe when black screen is introduced at oneend of the screen and is drawn across thescreen until the whole screen is black or tointroduce a new imageBrian Modi

Transitions Shot-reverse-shot when two people arespeaking, one person speaks on-screen, itcuts to the other actor and then cut backto the original actor Wehad to think about which transitionswould be appropriate in our film For example, we could use a dissolve tosuggest a long time or location Brian Modi
  8. 8. Equipment - Camera To record the film we had to useequipment including a camera We had to mount the camera on a tripodusing a tripod plate so it can be held still The tripods height could be increasedand decreased (but not whilst thecamera is on the tripod) Brian Modi
  9. 9. Equipment - Sound To record the sound we had to use amicrophone The microphone was attached to anextensible boom pole We had to think about the positioning ofthe boom pole to pick up the sounds wewanted To listen to the video, we had to plugheadphones into the cameraBrian Modi

  12. 12. Equipment - Editing Thetool palette has various tools for editing: The pointer tool is the default tool used to select things The razor tool is used to cut parts of scenes The pen tool is used for the automation of soundBrian Modi
