My meat is "mashing" and not coming through the plates correctly anymore, what is wrong?Chancesaretheknife,plateorbotharedull.Theholesinthegrindingplatesarerelativelysharpwhennew,buttendtodullovertimeandshouldbereplacedperiodically.Werecommendreplacingorre-sharpeningyourplatesandcuttingknifeatthesametime.Also,makesureyourmeatisverycoldorpartiallyfrozenforabettergrind.Youcouldalsohavethegrinderassembledincorrectly,makesureallpartsfitwheretheyshould.
I need to change my cutting blade, do I need to change the plate?Yes.IMPORTANT!USEKNIFEANDPLATETOGETHERASAMATCHEDSET.Alwaysusethesameknifeandplatetogether.Ifonehasgraduallywornawayfromperfectflat,theotherwillhavewornwithit.Asaresulttheymaystillbeusedtogether.However,ifoneismatchedwithadifferentitemwhichisgroundtrue,thesetwillnotturnoutagoodproduct.Inaddition,suchpracticecouldbreakthenewitem.
Can I stuff sausage with a meat grinder?Anymeatgrinder,whethermanualorelectric,canbefittedwithsausagestuffingtubesandusedtostuffsausage.Tubescanbepurchasedseparatelyandareratherinexpensive.Justbesurethattheymatchthestandardsizeofyourgrindersothattheyattachproperly.Itiseasiertostuffsausagewithanelectricgrinder.Sincethereisnohandletocrank,theevengrindingrateistakencareofbytheelectricmotor,whichhelpstostuffsausagecasingsevenly.
