Tourism, Park!'-, Arts &Sports DevelopmenlApril 26, 2013Commissioner RoAnn DestitoOffice ofGeneral Services41st J o o r ~ Coming TowerEmpire State PlazaAlbany, NY 12242Dear Commissioner Destito,This is a follow up letter to my original iet1er J sent to you three weeks ago but have yetto receive the courtesy of a reply.I did not think my request was complex, The Office ofGeneral Services (OGS) haspublicly stated it stands behind the $60,000 estimate to ":repair" the West Capitol Parklawn after it was allegedly damaged by the combination of a large crowd and muddyconditions at a peaceful rally opposing the ~ e w York Secure Ammunit ion and FirearmsEnforcement Act (Safe Act) on February 28, 2013.After nearly half of the repair project is complete, I once again request on behalfof thetaxpayers of New York a detailed analysis of your agency 's material and labor estimatesto repair the lawn. For a project that is far along as this, it should not take three weeks toprovide an analysis and workup of your estimate. The estimate for this project shouldhave been ready and approved prior to commencement so i fs perplexing it has been 21days and your agency still has not provided that paperwork.Your agcncylg lack of response and lack of information is troubling and another reasonwhy people have such a cynical opinion ofNew York State government. I'm troubledthat your agency would seemingly ignore a request from a member of the state legislatureand refuse to provide the public with an analysis of your estimate.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look fonvard to reviewing your costestimates for this project.Sincerely,
