    About this releaseThis document contains important information about the current release. We strongly recommend thatyou read the entire document.

    McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management (McAfee EMM) English-language user documentation isprovided at the time of release. For documentation in other languages, check the McAfee Downloadssite 34 weeks after product release.

    New featuresThis release of the product includes these new features.

    PKI certificate distribution and managementIn Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environments, iOS policies secure VPN or Wi-Fi connections withcertificate-based authentication.

    iOS 7 enhancementsiOS policies provide secure management of new iOS 7 features. The Single sign-on policy setting enables network credentials in order to log on to apps and

    websites. App Lock limits a supervised iOS 6 or later device to a single app, disabling the home button and

    returning the device to the specified app on wake or restart. Managed open-in restrictions separate corporate and personal data by allowing administrators to

    choose which apps can be used to open attachments in corporate email.

  • Touch ID restrictions provide administrative control of fingerprint-sensing technology for enableddevices.

    Lock screen messages display an optional message, with or without a contact phone number,when devices are locked by an administrator.

    Managed anti-malwareAdministrators can deploy and enforce use of the McAfee VirusScan Mobile Security (McAfee VMS)app to secure Android devices against malware threats. McAfee VMS is included with your McAfee EMMsubscription.

    App ProtectionAdministrators can enforce compliance for Android devices based on trust ratings from McAfee GlobalThreat Intelligence (McAfee GTI). Some factors that are used to determine trust ratings include therisk of malware, unauthorized URL access, and developer reputation.

    Whitelist and blacklistWhitelist and blacklist policies secure iOS and Android devices by permitting or restricting specifiedapps. These lists can be used to override or augment other app-based restrictions, like App Protectionfor Android.

    Threat eventsMobile security threats are reported as McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (McAfee ePO) threat events,enabling automated reporting and actions. Threat events are available for jailbroken or rooted devices,blacklisted apps, malware threats (according to McAfee VMS), and malicious or suspicious apps(according to McAfee GTI).

    EnhancementsThis release of the product includes these enhancements.

    Noncompliant reasonsAdministrators can view the reason a device is out of compliance in Mobile Properties | Device Details.

    End user notificationsUsers receive push notifications or other alerts describing why their device is out of compliance.Notifications tell users how to resolve the problem so they can resume corporate data sync.

    Package assignmentGroup-based package assignment provides performance improvements for globally distributed appsand files.

    If you assigned packages to individual users in previous versions of McAfee EMM, manually assign themto groups before upgrading.

  • Resolved issuesThese issues are resolved in this release of the product. For a list of issues fixed in earlier releases,see the Release Notes for the specific release.

    Server components Improved ActiveSync logic reduces exceptions in the McAfee EMM Hub. (899705) The McAfee EMM Hub Application Pool remains stable, allowing uninterrupted email sync and

    device-to-server communication. (926931) The McAfee EMM Push Notifier remains stable when attempting to send push notifications to certain

    older iOS devices. (917967)

    Installation and configuration GCM credentials are now validated immediately when entered. (891699) Android devices can now be configured with user names that include the character. (899686)

    Policies Devices now receive policy updates regardless of MDM query timing. (927318) Email is configured successfully when Domino is selected as the ActiveSync Endpoint. (891695) Deselecting Configure an ActiveSync account while provisioning disables McAfee Secure Container, because

    ActiveSync is required in order to use McAfee Secure Container. (903612) Device compliance is determined correctly when Configure an ActiveSync account while provisioning is

    unchecked. (899694) Changing passcode requirements for Android devices now resets noncompliant passcodes.

    (927547) The iOS restriction Installing iTunes applications is renamed Installing apps to more accurately describe the

    option. (910043)

    Devices SSL connections are validated and untrusted connections are rejected. (896497) Company name is now updated when new profiles are sent to iOS devices. (899699) Wi-Fi MAC addresses are now correctly displayed in Mobile Properties | Device Properties. (916813) PDF and DOCX file attachments open successfully on LG Optimus G devices. (929886)
