    Mo on consists of two individual unitsmade from glass and stone.

    Each unit is fabricated from manyamorphously shaped glass plates gluedtogether to form large glass sec ons partlybordered by a Jura Beige stone bench.

    Placed at a distance from one another,Mo on represents the movement of theriver currents in rela on to dry land andits' inten on is to introduce nature intothe architectural space.

    Rising Forest is a ceramic sculpturecomposed of 83 massive glazed vessels,each housing a small tree.

    This installa on combines contemporary artand tradi onal ceramic art; while incorporat -ing nature into the man-made environ -ment of a hotel atrium.

    The glaze captures the light that reectsoff the ceramic vases, resul ng in adeligh ul spectrum of colours that add tothe pa na of the vessels.

    Rain Oculus is a repository that channelscollected rainwater in a spiral vortexwhile also func oning as a skylight.

    Whirlpools have o en been depictedthroughout the history of art as a symbolof the passage between worlds, of birthand death.

    Kahn's inten on was to create a placewhere people can reect on our currentrela onship with water and its vitalconnec on to our lives.

    The Tipping Wall consists of 7,000mechanical polycarbonate pping waterchannels and is inspired by a water cycle.

    The network of channels directs the owof water, ar ully illustra ng and incorpo -ra ng the effect of natural elements suchas water and gravity.

    The artwork has strong resonance withits surroundings, as it reects Singapore'sstrong rela onship with water as atropical island with heavy rainfall.

    Dri is a stainless steel matrix of over 16,100steel rods and more than 8,320 steel nodes.

    The structure is transparent but the rodsfunc on like frames to outline the everchanging ac vity in the atrium below.

    The sculpture pays homage to the soaringheights of the Marina Bay Sands hotellobby, and emphasizes the sheer immen -sity of the structure and the personalsense of being dwarfed by a grandexpanse of open space.

    Ar cial Rock #71 and #86 are abstractsculptures inspired by The Scholars Rock.

    For genera ons in China, The Scholars Rockheld a place of honor in gardens andcourtyards throughout the country. ZhanWangs Ar cial Rocks are highly reec ve tosymbolically represent Chinas rapid changes.

    As gardens and places of quiet contempla onmake way for modern skyscrapers, ZhanWangs Ar cial Rocks with their shinysurfaces reect what is around them and,through these mirror-like surfaces, reect the

    Sol LeWi s Wall Drawing #917, Arcs andCircles and Wall Drawing #915, Arcs, Circleand Irregular Bands, are painted directlyonto the wall and are characterized bygeometric shapes, colors and the interplayof lines.

    Four Singaporean ar sts assisted TakeshiArita and Gabriel Hurler (ar sts fromLeWi s estate) in the crea on of theartwork a er the ar st's demise in 2007.LeWi is widely regarded as one of thefounders of conceptual art.

    Wind Arbor features a mul tude metalappers that respond to the aerodynamicpa erns of the wind around Marina BaySands.

    It is essen ally a stainless steel net affixed tothe top and bo om of the facade. Everchanging wind movements and ambient lightcause constant, sinuous and mesmerizingmovement of the metal appers .

    Marina Bay Sands Art PathThe Marina Bay Sands Art Path was launched on 28 April2010. The Art Path is a collec on of large-scale art instal -la ons by interna onally renowned ar sts handpickedby Marina Bay Sands design architect Moshe Safdie toensure a conceptual and aesthe c collabora onbetween ar st and architect.

    The seven ar sts and their site-specic work include:Antony Gormley (Dri ); Chongbin Zheng (Rising Forest

    ); James Carpenter (Blue Reec on Facade withLight Entry Passage); Ned Kahn (Wind Arbor, Rain Oculusand Tipping Wall); Israel Hadany (Mo on); Zhan Wang(Ar cial Rock #71 & #86); and the late Sol LeWi (Wall

    Drawing #917, Arcs and Circles, and Wall Drawing #915,Arcs, Circle and Irregular bands). Local Singaporeanpainters and the Singapore Tyler Print Ins tute were alsoinvolved in the produc on of the LeWi pain ng.
