Acts 1:4-5

I'm not sure about how much of the history and heritage of CLC that you are aware of.It may depend upon how new you are to our church. But it is one that is rich with trueaccounts of men and women who not only pursued the reality of the Holy Spirit butwho have encountered him in some very powerful and life changing ways. It would beso sad if all we had were stories of what has been. I long for us to have fresh accountsof what is. That is why I am giving myself to a personal pursuit of the Holy Spirit for myown life and for our church.

It's a journey I am urging you to join me in. To thirst for the more of God that he haspromised and to give ourselves in our daily living to search for an increasing passion forGod's presence and his fullness in our lives. There are three things I want to ask of youas your shepherd and leader.

Thirst for God and ask Him for a deeper encounter with the Holy Spirit in your every-day living. Make room for Him and make time for Him in the course of your very ordi-nary routines in life.

Come to our meeting times together thirsty and open to God. Shun the tendency torely on old patterns in our worship and seek God for a fresh encounter with His pres-ence. We long to see God at work in our church family in supernatural ways and I amdetermined we will pursue Him with a renewed heart and passion.

Plan to come along to the special 'School of the Holy Spirit' we are holding on Friday17th & Saturday 18th May. This is Pentecost weekend and we have the visit of Davidand Greta Peters from New Zealand to lead this school and minister in our Sundaymeetings. There is more information further on in this newsletter.

Desire and longing are more than words, they are expressed in decisions we make andactions we take. God is looking for those who are looking for Him. Is that you?

There are those who are reluctant because they have never encountered the Spirit in ameaningful way before, but there are also those who are reluctant because they seeno need for any more of God than they have previously experienced. Thisdoesn't have to be you! Ask your Heavenly Father to fill you afresh with his promised Holy Spirit. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.......
