improvements on our list include: remodeling the on course restrooms,

improving the golf shop merchandise, aerifying the tees, greens and

airways, completing the drainage improvements on #9. Items we have

completed: purchased new kitchen equipment, replaced the front

clubhouse doors, replaced windows in Bogeys, changed the menu in

Bogeys, improved the landscaping on the grounds and course, added new

chairs for the pavilion, purchased a new aerifier, renovated the irrigation

pumps, removed trees that shade greens, purchased inventory for the golf

shop, hired a manager for Bogeys, purchased new range balls and more.

Warmer weather that has arrived and it is having a positive impact on the course. Greens have

responded well from the aggressive aerification in April. Spring is the optimal time to gain root growth that will

help greens survive the hot summer months. There will be one small less abrasive aerification scheduled for June

6th. At this time we will also be aerifying all fairways and tees with our new aerway aerifier. This new machine will

do most of its disruption under the turf and in the soil profile by inserting a large knifing tine at an angle thendo most of its disruption under the turf and in the soil profile by inserting a large knifing tine at an angle then

twisting which results in a shattering effect in the root zone. All forms of aerification are reducing compaction

and increasing air and water infiltration into the soil profile. In return roots can grow deeper creating a healthier

plant. Many of the other projects that are ongoing include new fan installation on #3 and #9. Improving outer

edges by adding drainage, sod and pine straw in natural areas. The heart of our operation is the pump station

that is located near the pond on #6. Recently a service was performed and many repairs had to be made. During

this process the control panel was upgraded to modern times by installing a digital touch screen and eliminating

many out dated switches and controls. This improvement will save time with diagnostics and help us be more

efficient with our irrigation practices. I would like to thank everyone for the positive comments and encourage

everyone to fill out comment cards. Comment cards are an excellent way for us to hear your comments and

continue to improve important areas. As always I can be reached via e-mail at [email protected]

to join. You can bring guests out if you would like (you plus 3 guests) and everyone would play golf and eat lunch for free.

We hope that you will be willing to sell the course and get your friends to join so you and us both benefit! Registration for

this day begins on May 1st and you should contact the golf shop as soon as you can. We expect this celebration will fill up

    very quickly!

One thing you may have already seen was that we are going to begin tee times on Mondays starting at 11:00 AM. We plan

to do this for the growing season which will be from now through the end of August for sure and most likely into

September and October. Once we have the first frost of the year and the grass begins to go dormant we can look at

adjusting our starting times and back off on Monday blocks as best we can. The reason for this decision is to allow our

maintenance team time to complete necessary projects such as aerification, spaying, top-dressing and mowing. We expect

the facility to improve with this change in starting times and appreciate your understanding on why this must be done.

Beginning in May our event schedule and course schedule becomes very hectic. We have our first major event of the

season during May and our second at the end of June. The Spring Member-Member is slated for May 13th-15th with two

days of competition on Saturday and Sunday and a fun pairings party and social on Friday. If you haven’t done so yet,

register your two person team of members today!

If you have been wondering, “What the hell are pots and pans doing in a golf shop?” and haven’t found out yet, I am about to tell you. Our owner, Roger

Watson has purchased these items (in the golf shop on the table) to give away to YOU our members. We plan to raffle some of these items off throughout the

year however the majority of them (over $6,000 in merchandise) will be raffled off during our member holiday party in December. We will have numerous

ways for you to enter the drawing throughout the year such as filling out a comment card, sponsoring a new member to join or playing in club events. Please

check with the golf shop on how you can get entered to win these fabulous gifts!

To help streamline the staff’s time and efforts for the better we have decided to produce the newsletter on a two month basis during the golfing season. We

will plan to do it once during the winter (most likely in December) for December-February. We hope this helps keep you in the loop with club happenings

and helps free up the staff during the golf season months. Be sure to check your email weekly for our Weekly Update. This weekly update is sent out each

Sunday and will keep you in the loop for club happenings.
