Do Now!

Many of you are missing work. If you have any

work in your locker, book bag, or at home I strongly suggest that you bring it to me ASAP.

I will be returning a lot of graded work today, including speed tests.

Missing Work

Page 4: May 7, 2012

The test you took during dispersal two weeks ago.

The grades were horrendous. Only about 5 people had passing grades.

This is part of your test on Friday. Every student will have to retest on Wednesday.

We will review the test today in preparation.

In addition, I will add in parts of Newton’s Laws.

Speed, Velocity & Acceleration Test

Meg and Emi left JMMS at the same time. Meg

lives further away from the school than Emi, but they arrive at their houses at the same time. Compare their speeds.

Question 1

Page 6: May 7, 2012

Jaime and Clara are racing. Jaime runs 40

meters in 8 seconds. Clara travels 80 meters 20 seconds. Which runner is the fastest? Show your complete work using the speed triangle and label correctly!

Question 2

Tennessee Titans player, Chris Johnson takes

4.24 seconds to run a 40 meter dash. What is his speed? Show your work on the speed triangle and label.

Question 3

We will be finishing our foldables from Friday.

You can use this on the test Wednesday as well as the Quarter Final on Friday.

Please do a good job on these and keep up with them. We will only use them if the entire class has them.
