From our Pastor Dear Folks:
Items for this week:
Family Faith Formation: Last week I announced a tuition break for the school families; this week I am announcing a tuition break for next year’s Family Faith Formation. We will be offering a 5% discount on tuition for next year’s returning families.
Parish Finances: Brothers and sisters, the Fish Fry normally brings in $70.000. This year, it brought in $25,000.00 as the Coronavirus Pandemic halted all parish activities. And, the parish picnic, which normally brings in $12,000.00, was halted. Right now, the parish is in a deficit. The parish, with the Archbishop’s approval, did apply for a small business loan/grant from the govt. We were so blessed to receive a loan/grant. The govt. grant/loan is only being used for salaries. The next financial board meeting is the second Tuesday in May and after that meeting, more detailed in-formation will be given to the parish about where things stand financially. I want to thank every-one for their prayers and financial generosity at this time. This whole time is very strange and weird. We will get through this. Again, thanks for your generosity.
Coronavirus Updates: I just want to continue to let everyone know that the Saint Joseph Perpet-ual Adoration Chapel is being sanitized every 2 weeks to mitigate any virus and/or bacteria floating around. It was sanitized again this past Wednesday. I am waiting until we get word on reconvening in Church before sanitizing that area and the school area. And, speaking of reconvening in Church, let us pray for some good news soon!!! We all need to get back together worshiping in communion and community within the walls of the Church. Let us pray for the Archbishop as he as to make this call/decision.
**Convent: Just a reminder that the time for the convent to be torn down is coming soon. Again, this tear down is coming from funds restricted for the green space—park—effort.
Have a good week and stay healthy!
Fr. Jack

Online Giving -Switching to Online Giving-
Understanding that every business, non-profit, and household is undergoing financial strain right now due to the Coronavirus, we know that there are some who may not be able to contribute at this time; please con-
tinue your prayers for an end to this pandemic and, thank you for those much-needed prayers!
If you can contribute financially to the parish, please consider, “Online Giving,” as a viable option. In these unprecedented times, financial support is still needed for the Church. Some prefer mailing in their dona-tions to the Church and that is great. But, “Online Giving,” is also a viable option that many find fruitful.
This page gives details for giving online through the, “WeShare,” program.

Current CARE Outreach: During these unprecedented times, CARE has been working with Father Jack and wonderful Saint Mary Magdalen volunteers outreaching to our elderly and parishioners in need offering support for picking up groceries and medications. This outreach has been an AMAZING
and enriching experience for all thus far! We are finding out how well our Saint Mary Magdalen parishioners are already being cared for by neighbors, friends and family.
Our parishioners in need are very receptive and thankful for the outreach and many expressed care and concern for others. It is so wonderful to see our parish come together through this effort.
If you are in need of support with picking up groceries or medication or if you would like to volunteer with this effort, please reach out to Nancy Gleason on the CARE line at 962-1354.
