Horse Leasing Program

Are you a horse lover that dreams of owning your own horse? Well, you’re in luck! We have a very special opportunity to lease one of our special needs rescue horses, Buddy. Buddy is a 24 year old partially blind, retired, toothless Appaloosa gelding.. with a slight limp. He was saved from the pipeline of bad fate on his way to Mexico, and now calls Innsbrook his forever home.

Buddy has been a staple to our lesson programs since the start of Dun Right Stables in June of 2020. He has since been semi-retired from our program and enjoys the lush pasture life here at Innsbrook. Buddy is in search of a friend(s) to call his own. He is best suited for a leasee that would come hand graze him or groom every day. He is a very special horse and would like a very special person to spend time with in years of retirement. Buddy can be suitable for occasional, very light riding- either with an experienced rider (he surprisingly likes to go fast!), or a less experienced rider can be led on him. He will need shoes on to walk down the trails. Don’t let his age fool you, he is a very spunky old man! He will need a leasee that has previous horse experience. Buddy’s leasing options:• Single day lease- $100/month. One

day a week with Buddy. This includes one horse handling lesson a month

• Half lease- $250/month. Three days a week with Buddy. This includes two horse handling lessons a month.

• Full lease- $575/month. He is all yours everyday! Well, besides the ownership part. (But that can be discussed too!) This includes two horse handling lessons a month

If you are interested in discussing the lease options or possible ownership of Buddy, please send an email to [email protected].

Mindfulness has exploded in popularity due to its success in helping people manage everyday stress and anxiety, as well as pain relief and other illnesses. Mindfulness is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you are sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment.

In this five-week course, we will work through a variety of mindfulness activities to help relax the body and mind and help to reduce tension. Some activities will include mild stretching, various breathing techniques, guided meditation, silent meditation, and more.

You do not need to attend all five sessions to benefit from the mindfulness practices; attend as many sessions as you would like.

We hope to see you there!

Night Moth Sugaring

Have some family fun in your own backyard with creatures that fly by night. Moth Sugaring is an old adventure with new thrills.

In just three simple steps, your family can view and photograph colorful and rarely seen underwing moths. First, mix up a sugary batch, then paint it on a backyard tree, and return with flashlights after dusk to see who came to dinner.

The batch can be as easy as bananas and beer or whatever you have on hand. Most online recipes list three main ingredient types including alcohol, sugars, and ripe or rotting fruit. Creating a mix with the consistency of syrup will work best. Use a paintbrush to apply the mix in a square shape, thick enough to not run down the tree.

Moth wings, drab on the outside to blend with trees, open while feeding to reveal brilliant colors and bold patterns. This fun and educational family activity is easy to achieve. It’s always a surprise to see who comes to dinner at your tree. You may see several different species with a variety of colorful and interesting features. You can view these over a few nights to see what comes and goes. This activity can be done throughout the summer and fall.
