The FERROLI Maxima range ofSystem and Combination boilers is part of new developments: gas-fired condensing boilers designedspecifically to burn less gas andtherefore reduce CO2 emissionsand NOx. This in turn saves thehome owner money and helps toconserve energy and theenvironment.

HOW DOES IT WORK?By using a large heat exchanger,condensing boilers are designed to

extract more sensible heat from the flue gases. This provides greaterefficiency in operation. As more heatis extracted, the flue gases cool to alower temperature. By cooling theflue gases below 54ºC a change ofstate occurs when the water vapourin the products of combustioncondenses. This change of state willrelease the latent heat of vapourisationinto the system and thus increase theboiler’s efficiency. This is normally lostinto the atmosphere via the flue.

AUTO OUTPUT SELECTIONThe auto output selection controlsystem developed by FERROLIenables Maxima to set its ownoutput automatically each time there is a demand for central heating, thussaving fuel and lowering emissions.

HOT WATER PRODUCTION†

Maxima can produce up to 16.5litres/min of domestic hot water at30ºC rise and 14.2 litres/min ofdomestic hot water at 35ºC rise. Thisis due to Maxima’s highly efficientheat exchanger and its twin pumpsetup, one for central heating andthe other for domestic hot water;this allows total control without theuse of a diverter valve.

O.T.C. CONTROL†

Maxima has the option of “outsidetemperature compensation”. Thesoftware allows user adjustments tosuit individual comfort levels*.Maxima will maintain heating outputcontrol at minimum levels based onexternal temperatures. This enablesthe appliance to exploit fully thepotential of its condensing technology.

ADVANCED CERAMIC BURNERBy the use of a large ceramic plaqueburner, the flames are evenly spreadwhich ensures ease of ignition andan exceptionally quiet and efficientoperation. The pre-mix ceramicburner offers a longer life, greaterreliability and a cleaner burn.

PRE-MIX FAN ASSEMBLYTo ensure maximum combustionefficiency, Maxima accurately mixes the air and the gas prior to combustion resulting in theperfect flame.

REMOTE CONTROL (OPENTHERM)The OpenTherm unit is a fullymodulating heating and time controldesigned to optimise the high efficiencyof the heating appliance it is connectedto. Working on a pulse system itobtains information from the boiler’smicroprocessor and constantly feedsback information relating to the roomtemperature rise or fall. It can displayany fault codes (should they occur)and also the operating status of theappliance, be it in heating or hotwater mode.

The Maxima 35 C combi boiler is acompact modern combi that delivers hotwater for central heating (CH) for a largefamily home. When hot water is demandedat the tap (DHW) it temporarily suspendspumping CH supply to focus 100% of itsheat exchanger capacity on producing ahuge 16.5 litres per minute of DHW at30oC temperature rise (eg mains waterin at 7oC, DHW flow at 37oC).
