Who is Jesus?

Step downwards for our sake:

He left the splendour of Heaven

He made Himself nothing

He took the nature of a servant

He was made in the likeness of humanity

He humbled Himself

He became obedient to death

He died on a cross

What did the cross mean to Jesus?:

He relinquished His place

He refused His prerogative

He renounced His privileges

He restricted His presence

He realised His purpose

He received His promotion

Jesus:

2nd man ever born as God intended

• 1 Cor. 15:44(b)-49 = 1st man: Adam / 2nd: Jesus

• In Gods’ image - Gen. 1:27

• Breathed life into Adam - Gen. 2:7

• Real life is only possible with the Holy Spirit of God living in you! - John 3:5-7

Real Born-Again Man:

• Life as intended - John 10:10

• ...with Jesus living in and through you - John 14:10-17

• Matthew ch. 8 & 9 is the Normal Christian Life

• Which is doing His will in His strength by faith and obedience in Him

• The one that Jesus...

...spoke of

...died for

...lives in us

• As Jesus is the image of God (Colossians 1:15ff)

• And we are reconciled to God by the physical death of the perfect man (Colossians 1:22)

• We are restored to a life inhabited by His Holy Spirit (Jn. 3)

• Jesus works through us to do His will (Jn. 14:13a)

• Why?

• To bring glory to the Father (Jn. 14:13b)

• That’s Living Gods’ Way!
