Matt & Tamera Hello We are Matt and Tamera, and we think that you are an incredible and brave person. To make such important decisions demands an enormous amount of love, courage and strength, and we have the utmost respect for you. Open Adoption When we first started dating we decided we wanted to adopt as a way to expand our family. With our inability to become pregnant, we felt a greater source leading us to adoption. Matt’s godson and several of our cousins are adopted and we always felt a special bond with them. Matt’s aunt came back into our lives after she was placed for adoption at birth, and it feels as she has always been part of the family. We feel comfortable and like the idea of staying connected with you throughout the child’s life. The Two of Us We are both active and fun-loving people, whether it is running around the lakes, biking throughout the Twin Cities, playing with our niece, or being with friends and family. Matt is an avid cyclist and competes in many duathlons and running races. Both of us ran in the Earth Day Half Marathon this past April. Visualizing ourselves with a child’s bike trailer attached to our bikes strolling around the trails as a family is exciting! We love to travel and feel the best way to involve ourselves in this world is to go out and experience it! Tamera has volunteered with her grandmother in Romania and Ecuador taking care of children through a non-profit agency. We plan to continue our mission trips as a family and to learn more about the world we live in. Matt graduated with a double major in Accounting and Economics and is currently working as a financial analyst in Minneapolis. Tamera is a pharmacist and gets many calls from family and friends asking for advice on medications for them or their children. Tamera likes to spend time in her flower garden and enjoys photography. She has a strong passion for spirituality and has a large collection of books, as she is always reading to learn more. Incorporating story time into our daily life as a family is a dream of ours. Ella, our niece, showing Matt her new toy. Our Family We love to spend time with family and go back to the farm (Sioux Falls, SD) where Tamera spent much of her time growing up. Tamera grew up in a small community with two younger brothers and a large extended family. Tamera’s grandma has always been a huge influence in her life and they continue to remain close. Matt grew up in the southern suburbs of Minneapolis and has a younger brother, a four year old niece and a large extended family. We are blessed to live close to Matt’s brother and niece, as she is such a joy in all of our lives. We spend a lot of time with Matt’s family boating around the lakes, at the cabin in Wisconsin or camping. Family is important to us, and the traditions that go with it. We look forward to the day of sharing our love with a precious addition to our family. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to introduce ourselves.
