This program prepares students to teach English to immigrants and international students in the United

States and to learners of English in other countries around the world. Students gain knowledge about

English language structure and functions, second language learning processes, effective teaching

methodologies, and current educational technologies. They develop pedagogical skills through

classroom observations, hands-on projects, and supervised teaching practice. In addition to teaching

English, program graduates pursue careers in related fields such as student advising, program

administration, linguistics, and teaching other languages.
