JACK-O-LANTERNS

Are hollowed out pumpkins with a face cut in one side and a candie put inside.in the old days people it fires to scare away bad spirits.they belivied light had power over darknees today jack-o-lanterns are supposed to frighten away ghosts and witches.

Son calabazas aguecadas con una cara cortada en una lado y se oloca una vela en su interior. Los viejos tiempos la gente las prendia fuego para usartar a los espiritus malos. Creian que la luz tenia poder sobre la oscuridad. Hoy jack-o-lanterns se supone que asustan a los fantasmas y brujas

APPLE BOBBING

One halloween party games called bobbing for apples . Apples are put in a big bowl full of water . The players , sometimes blindfolded must take an apple out of the water without using their hands.

Una noche de fiesta de hallowenn en una llamada manzanas balanceandose. Las manzanas eran puestas en un bowl grande lleno de agua. Los jugadores a veces con los ojos vendados debias sacar las manzanas del agua sin usar sus manos

DRESSING UP

On hallowend, when it was belived that bad spirits came back to the earthly world, people thougth they would meet ghosts if they left their homes. To avoid being recoghized by ghosts people would wear masks when they left homes after dark so that the ghosts would mistake them for fellow spirits. Thats why hallowen costumes are traditionally monsters such as vampires, ghosts, witches and devils.

En hallowen cuando la gente creia que los espiritus malos regresaron a la tierra, pensaban que se encontrarian con los fantasmas si ellos salian de sus casas,. Para evitar ser reconocidos, usaban mascaras cuando salian de las casas en la oscuridad. Estas son costumbres tradicionales de hallowen, munstruos como vampiros fantasmas brujas y diablos

TRICK OR TREAT Children in costumes go
