Slide 2 Mate Grinder MATE European Dealer Meeting Slide 3 Advantages of Automatic Controlled Punch and Die Grinding More regrinds, accurate material removal Protect punch and die material from heat Superior surface finish Accurate geometry, shear, parallel surfaces Speed Repeatability Reliability Slide 4 Mate Vario Grinder Automatic punch and die grinding for all tooling styles. Slide 5 Cutting Edge Technology Die sharpened on ordinary surface grinder Die sharpened on the Mate Vario Grinder Sharp cutting edge with shallow depth of scratch results in long tooling life Slide 6 Machine Features Grinding area light Programmable controller (fully automatic and manual modes) Six (6) storage drawers Cleaning hose and gun Built in coolant recirculation system Rotating fixture table with shear angle adjustment Warning light indicating grinding and cycle finished Slide 7 Laser Top of Part Sensing Laser top of punch and die sensing eliminates manual setup. Top surface is determined within 0.02 mm. Grinding head showing CBN wheel, laser and air purge housings. The laser is located in a positive pressure air purge housing to prevent any grinding debris from blocking the laser beam. Hole diameter for laser 0.6 mm. Slide 8 Programmable Controller Grinding cycle Fully automatic with programmed rapid positioning, slow feed, grinding feed speed, bottom dwell time and rapid return. Controller PLC stores all grinding parameters for automatic grinding. Five (5) programs can be stored to ensure consistency. Settings include: Total cut depth Material removal rate for rough cut Material removal rate for fine cut Polishing time Slide 9 Controlled Depth of Cut Accurate programmable material removal Achieve maximum number of regrinds. Slide 10 Grinding Cycle Load punch or die Close door Press automatic start button 1.Rapid down cycle, warning light indicates machine in operation 2.Laser locates top of punch or die 3.Controlled speed grind starts, coolant starts, table rotation starts 4.Slow grind starts 5.Polishing 6.Rapid return to home position 7.Warning light indicated grinding cycle finished Open door Remove finished punch or die Typical cycle time 2.5 to 3 minutes Slide 11 Fixture Mounting Quick change bayonet mounting fixtures Slide 12 Easy Fixturing Fixtures available for all tooling styles. Slide 13 Grinding Punches With Shear Pivot point Angle adjustment in degree increments. Slide 14 Coolant Distribution System Coolant applied to CBN wheel from inside the grinding zone for maximum cooling and lubrication Coolant tank with high performance pump. Slide 15 Air Drying for Air Purge The air supplied to the purge system designed to keep the laser system clean must be free from moisture. To meet this requirement the Mate Vario Grinder is fitted with an air drying system. Slide 16 Maintenance Daily Check coolant level, add water as necessary Clean machine interior with supplier hose after use 2 weeks or 100 hours operation Lubricate grind wheel head guide ways Lubricate fine infeed screw 4 to 6 months Replace coolant and clean coolant box Slide 17 Specifications Total Electric Connection Requirements4kVA (400V / 50Hz.)
