Transformational Conversations

Conversational Intelligence R (C-IQ) is a scientifically validated, masterful skill that empowers people to influence the neurochemistry of others in ways that strengthen relationships, grow trust and develop positive outcomes. This Workshop is a highly experiential session that gets people to step outside their comfort zone, to shift their thinking and interactions with others.

Conversational Patterns – Insight & Impact

Conversational Intelligence R (C-IQ) Catalyst is an easy-to-use tool that facilitates the process of sharing insights about the conversational behaviours that lead to healthy relationships and to strengthening trust in those relationships. Participants in this Workshop will take a deep dive into their own personal conversational patterns and design strategies to produce better outcomes with clients, customers & colleagues.

Neuroscience of Trust

Over the last 17 years, fMRI’s have enabled neuroscientists to better understand what our brains need to help us sustain healthy trusted relationships both with ourselves and others. Once we learn what patterns and behaviours drive connectivity and trust, and what drives fear and distrust, leaders are able to connect, engage, navigate and co-create with others in healthy, inspiring ways. This workshop explores different Trust models (K. Srudwick’s SHAPE, Brené Brown’s BRAVING and Judith E. Glaser’s TRUST).

Talent & Team Dynamics

In order to thrive in today’s Volatile, Uncertain, Complex & Ambiguous (VUCA) working environment, it is critical that teams grow and sustain trust and flow. Talent Dynamics provides insight into the natural way people create value (and grow trust), and the natural way they leverage that value (and grow flow). Participants in this workshop will embark on a journey of self awareness and gain an understanding of their own natural talents, along with that of their team.

A Coaching Approach to Leadership

The old rules of “power-over” management and supervision simply don’t work with today’s complex workforce. Aspirational leaders of today now rely on learning the art of coaching to lead their teams to success. This workshop opens participants’ eyes to some critical brain based coaching skills that will enable them to lead more effectively; providing insight about the value of leading from a perspective of ‘not knowing’, and the benefits to be gained from creating an environment where employees feel safe enough to take risks and come up with new solutions. No two brains are the same and this workshop highlights the power of insight (dopamine hits from aha moments!)

Leading with Emotional Intelligence (EQ)

Emotionally Intelligent leaders foster a safe, trusting workplace climate conducive to high performance; they make more effective decisions, model resilience, lead with optimism, grow better relationships and have more engaged teams. So it’s no surprise that today, the people side of performance (i.e. EQ) has risen to the top of the corporate agenda. This workshop introduces participants to ground breaking profiling tools and research from the world's largest EQ organisation, Six Seconds.

Motivation: from Surviving to Thriving

For many, the demands of the modern workplace have become very stressful; from priority and time pressures to the perceived need to be many things to many people. The pace of life has ramped up, impacted especially by levels of internet connectivity and expectations of rapid response times. As a result, there are often feelings of stress overwhelm, and even burnout where health and wellbeing are heavily affected. Staying motivated is a challenge for many, and surviving is all they can do on a daily basis. This workshop raises awareness around what motivates us in life (from a neuroscience and Emotional Intelligence (EQ) viewpoint) and allows for personal reflection and the opportunity to normalise the experience through shared discussion.

Decision Making: Head, Heart, Gut

Making good decisions is an art, and one that leaders are finding more difficult in our fast paced business environment. There are five (5) Emotional Intelligence (EQ) competencies that essentially inform great decision making: Emotional Literacy; Pattern Recognition; Consequential Thinking, Optimism and Noble Goal (our Why). This workshop introduces leaders to the Six Seconds Change Map, and the inflection points where we are often called upon to make decisions to keep change moving in a positive direction. It links key theories around the neuroscience of change, the neurochemistry at play and how to strengthen EQ competencies to create the environment for clarity of thought and good decisions.

Be the Best We can Be

This workshop is designed to take individuals in teams through a personal, bonding experience where they honestly and vulnerably share their strengths, and co-create a vision for their shared values as a team. This highly experiential and creative workshop involves lots of activities, and explores how Mindful living on a daily basis infused with practising our Character Strengths leads to greater wellbeing and happiness.

The Neuroscience of Quality Feedback

Performance reviews often have a negative connotation, setting off threat/ away states as employees prepare for dreaded feedback. A far more collaborative and brain friendly approach is to have frequent chats where the conditions are right for collaborative, safe, quality thinking. In this space, with a leader who understands how to lead with the brain in mind, the opportunity arises for a strengths based conversation, where the employee generates their own insights around how they can improve. This workshop deep dives into the art of providing specific, succinct, generous and constructive feedback that encourages ongoing learning, autonomy and mastery

Embracing Change – a Brain friendly Approach

Leadership requires continual effort to explore, adapt and move into new or altered territories, taking others along on the journey. Change may be as significant as a corporate merger or as seemingly minor as moving desks. Leaders are change agents, and embracing this aspect of their role with optimism and energy creates climates where people can thrive (rather than live in fear). Contemporary neuroscience offers leaders a new take on change and human responses to it. This workshop provides participants with an opportunity to explore what happens inside people’s heads when faced with change, to better understand change responses and rethink strategies for effective change.

Growth Mindsets – the secret to success

The famous work of Dr Carol Dweck has introduced us to the transformative influence of leading with a Growth Mindset, and developing such a Mindset in our people and in our teams. Leaders with a Growth Mindset believe that talents can be developed through hard work and effort, good strategies and quality feedback from others. They tend to put more into learning, and create environments where people feel safe to take risks, innovate and show a willingness to learn constructively from their mistakes. This workshop explores the power of a growth mindsets and strategies, introducing practical frameworks to shift the thinking of teams to generate positive performance outcomes.

Emotions & Wellbeing

The measurable and learnable competencies of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) are central to personal health and wellbeing. Emotions are neuropeptides, released in our bodies in response to a trigger. Our ability to recognise this trigger (through our emotion and feelings), and interpret the information we are being given is central to our ability to navigate life. In the words of neuroscientists, we have to be able to ‘Name it to Tame it’ to provide relief to the Amygdala. Away emotions (cortisol) flood our body and cells with an inflammatory soup, and helping leaders to understand the importance of emotions in their life is integral to their sustainable wellbeing. This workshop takes participants on a transformational self awareness journey.

Life Balance – Take Control

Life Balance is about what we do on a daily basis. It is not a destination; rather it is a continual process. It is also relevant to note that our definition of Life Balance will change over time and with the changing seasons of our lives, and as such our perception of Life Balance is probably the first expectation to manage. The research of Dr Robyn Young (2009) showed that there is no such thing as Work/Life balance. Rather we should call it Work/Life integration, as it depends so much on our values and how we choose to prioritise those life roles that feel important to us at any given time. This workshop will help participants change the way they think about Life Balance and give them strategies to take control.

Healthy Lives - Optimism & Empathy

There is an established link between Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and health and wellbeing. In the way that the global EQ network, Six Seconds, look at healthy living, two (2) key competencies stand out as being significant: Optimism and Empathy. There is clear evidence to show that optimistic people live longer and are less likely to be re-hospitalised after surgery. Empathy plays an important role in helping us to non-judgementally lean into vulnerability and recognise what we need in our lives to thrive.
