Master Sergeant William F. Ramos was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico. He joined the Army in Feb 15, 1995, and attended OSUT (One Station Unit Training) at FT Sill, OK, to be a Field Artillery Cannon Crewman. During his career, Master Sergeant Ramos served as a Battery First Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Chief of Section, and Howitzer Gunner. He participated in Operations Iraqi Freedom twice and Enduring Freedom twice as well. His additional deployments include Kosovo as a member of KFOR (TF Lightning). Master Sergeant Ramos has been assigned to the following units: 1st Battalion 5th Field Artillery in Fort Riley, KS; 1st Battalion 7th Field Artillery in Schweinfurt, Germany; 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Fort Hood, TX; 2nd Battalion 320th and 2nd Battalion 32nd Field Artillery in Fort Campbell, KY. He is currently assigned as the Senior Military Instructor in the IUPUI ROTC program. Master Sergeant Ramos’ military and civilian education includes the US Army Air Assault School, the Senior Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Warrior Leaders Course, and the Army Combat Lifesavers Course. He has an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from University of Maryland’s University College and is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Management and Administration.
