The Aim of the Course Massimo will for the first time present the best of his work—including material he has never taught before. The course will focus on differential diagnosis of the most important themes encountered in human life and then relate these themes to families of remedies, sub-families and sin- gle remedies. The course teaches students to differentiate fami- lies and remedies on the basis of their most reli- able themes. This approach then enables the prac- titioner to further differentiate the families into single remedies and thus to very precise prescriptions. Massimo's teaching approach is wonderfully in-depth. The length and structured nature of the course allows Massimo to teach at a much deeper level where the families can take on real life for you. Families of Remedies We will primarily, though not exclusively, study biological families. Similar constellations of themes, expressed both physically and emo- tionally, form the basis for establishing logical groupings of remedies. Within these "families" we will draw out the individuality of each mem- ber substance. Fundamental Themes For the first time Massimo will present his latest material: fundamental themes. These themes can ALWAYSbe expected if the remedy or family is going to act deeply. Knowing solid, reliable “must-having points” makes prescribing far more reliable. Teaching from Cases All the material Massimo will present is based on his personal clinical experience with cured cases. The standards for his cured cases are: • The majority of the complaints have significantly improved along with a deep shift in the patient’s perception and handling of his life situ- ation. • Improvement has lasted for a minimum of two years. • Intercurrent exacerbations and have been successfully treated with only the constitutional remedy. Satellite Remedies The cases used throughout the course will include manmy rare remedies. The common and uncommon remedies will be studied in relationship to each other with a focus on the essential themes that must be present if the remedy is to be successfully prescribed. Handouts, rich audiovisual aids and stimulating homework will be liberally utilized. Methodology Massimo will show how he analyzes cases and demonstrate how he uses diverse information such as provings, materia med- ica, traditional uses, toxicology, pharmacology, symbolism, mythol- ogy and of course, most importantly cured cases to find central shared themes for families. Sessions The September and March session will consist of seven working days of at least seven hours per day. The June session will be five days of five hours per day, leaving the afternoon free (Capri is one of the most beau- tiful islands in the Mediterranean and the perfect location for a family vacation at reasonable prices). The entire course comprises more than 370 hours of instruction. The course will be held in English “Remaining in a Safe Environment” Session one: 23-29 Sept, 2001 • A general introduction to Massimo’s approach. • The Sea and Water: Aqua marina, Spongia, Corallium rubrum, Medusa, Asterias, Murex, Venus, Calcarea carbonica, Homarus, Ambra, Sepia, Gadus, Oleum jecoris, Pecten, Astacus, Badiaga • Calcium & Related: Calcarea carbonica, Calcarea phosphorica, Calcarea sul- phurica, Calcarea arsenicosa, Calcarea muriatica, Calcarea iodata, Lapis albus. • Natrum & Related: Natrum muriaticum, Natrum arsenicosum, Natrum bro- matum, Natrum iodatum, Natrum carbonicum, Natrum sulphuricum, Natrum phosphoricum, Borax.
