In Confirmation, a Baptized person is “sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit” and strengthened for service in the Church. Our Confirmation program just finished for the year and during the past several weeks we have been having interviews with the candidates to talk with them about what they have learned. The candidates shared with us what Confirmation meant, how their relationship with God has changed as a result of being enrolled in the program and about their gifts and talents. Throughout the year I stressed to the candidates that Confirmation IS NOT graduation! It is, rather, the beginning of adult Christian life in the Church. As such, we encourage that the candidates use their God-given gifts and talents in active service here at St. Ann’s to enrich our community. I have not said “goodbye” to any of them. I have instead said “we’ll be seeing you around”. Our expectation is that they will remain regularly coming to Mass and being active members of our parish. The Confirmation class will receive the Sacrament on Thursday, May 7 at Sacred Heart, Webster as part of a regional Confirmation ceremony. On Sunday, May 10 at the 11AM Mass, our students will return to St. Ann’s and take an active part in the liturgy as greeters, lectors, and gift- bearers. After Mass, we will have a reception in the parish hall for them and their families. All parishioners are invited to join us in the hall to congratulate the newly confirmed. Let us pray for our young people as they prepare to receive Confirmation that they may receive in abundance the gifts of the Spirit and remain faithful to the Lord throughout their lives. In Christ, Fr. Michael

In light of these difficult circumstances, St. Ann’s Parish is holding an evening of prayer for Marco and his family. Please join us as a parish family to offer prayer for this special little boy.
