Pope francis’ General Intentions EVANGELIZATION: Priests and their pastoral ministry. The priests, who experience fatigue and loneliness in their pastoral work, may find help and comfort in their intimacy with the Lord and in their friendship with their brother priests.

Intención General del papa francisco EVANGELIZACIÓN: Sacerdotes y su ministerio pastoral. Los sacerdotes, que experimentan fatiga y soledad en su trabajo pastoral, pueden encontrar ayuda y consuelo en su intimidad con el Señor y en su amistad con sus hermanos sacerdotes.

Priest’s message WHO ARE PASTORS?

This week we are talking about Pastors. And also shepherds, because shepherd is everyone who has a flock, no matter how small. Pastor is the Bishop of a Diocese. But pastors are also the father and the mother of the family. And the teacher in a school. And the head of an office. And, very especially, the ruler of a nation. And through the Prophet Jeremiah (Jer 23, 1-6) God is very strict with the bad shepherds: "You have rejected and scattered my sheep and have not taken care of them. I will take charge of punishing your bad deeds. " Very strong, right? Prepare the bad shepherds with what will fall. Be parents or mothers. Teachers or heads of office. Bishops or governors. The Lord is my Shepherd, I lack nothing, "we sing in Psalm 22, the favorite of many. And it is so, because with Christ we lack nothing. And, although we have difficult and dark moments, there is nothing to fear, because He is guid-ing and appeasing us. Jesus is the Good Shepherd. And how do you take care of your sheep? The Gospel tells us that it cares for them, seeks them if they are lost, heals them if they get sick, mounts them on their shoulders to return them to the fold, re-joices when they find the lost, etc. etc. Jesus is the Good Shepherd. And first he takes care of the little flock closest to Him. They are the Apostles, whom he makes pastors of the great flock, of his Church. That is why when he sent them to mission for the first time, he invited them back with him "to a solitary place, so that they rest a little" (Mk 6, 30-34).

But watch out! that this is not only for Bishops, Priests and Nuns. Because ... is that we are all apostles, because Christ has commissioned us to bring the Word of God to everyone who can receive it. And that is to be an apostle. That is evangelizing. But ... where are we going to find the evangelizers of today that lonely place to rest a little? Where? In the sentence. These places are all those moments when the Lord calls us to pray and to be with Him alone to rest in Him and to let ourselves be instructed by Him. Indeed, there can not be a true and effective evangelization without those moments of intimacy with Jesus, in which we renew ourselves physically, emotionally and spiritually. There can not be a true and effective evangeliza-tion without those moments of silence in which we deepen the Word of God, to go internalizing it and making it life in us. Only then can we communicate it to those who want to listen. Jesus is the Good Shepherd. And, in addition to choosing, training and caring for her pastors, she also deals directly with her sheep. The Gospel tells us that, although Jesus tried to go in a boat to a lonely place with his Apostles, the people won the race overland and they arrived first on the other side. And Jesus seeing "a numerous multitude that was waiting for him, felt sorry for them, because they walked like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them for a long time". The Lord wants to teach us. The Lord wants us to rest. The Lord wants to prepare us. How do you want to do it? In the sentence. In the prayer of recol-lection. In prayer in solitude. Let us take advantage of the Lord in those mo-ments, and then be able to communicate what we have received to others. This way we can take care of the flock, whatever it is that has been assigned to us.

mensaje del Padre ¿QUIÉNES SON PASTORES?

Esta semana se nos habla de Pastores. Y también de pastores, porque pastor es todo el que tiene a su cargo un rebaño, por más pequeño que sea. Pastor es el Obispo de una Diócesis. Pero pastores son también el padre y la madre de fami-lia. Y el maestro en una escuela. Y el jefe de una oficina. Y, muy especialmen-te, el gobernante de una nación. Y a través del Profeta Jeremías (Jer. 23, 1-6) Dios se muestra muy severo con los malos pastores: “Ustedes han rechazado y dispersado a mis ovejas y no las han cuidado. Yo me encargaré de castigar las malas acciones de ustedes”. Bien fuerte, ¿no? A prepararse los malos pastores con lo que les caerá. Sean padres o madres. Maestros o jefes de oficina.Obispos o gobernantes. El Señor es mi Pastor, nada me falta”, cantamos en el Salmo 22, favorito de mu-chos. Y es así, porque con Cristo nada nos falta. Y, aunque pasemos momentos difíciles y oscuros, nada hay que temer, porque El va guiándonos y apaciguándo-nos. Jesús es el Buen Pastor. Y ¿cómo cuida de sus ovejas? El Evangelio nos dice que las atiende, las busca si se pierden, las cura si se enferman, las monta en sus hombros para regresarlas al redil, se alegra cuando encuentra a la perdida, etc. etc. Jesús es el Buen Pastor. Y primero cuida del pequeño rebaño más cercano a El. Son los Apóstoles, a quienes hace pastores del gran rebaño, de su Iglesia. Por eso cuando los envió por primera vez a misionar, de regreso los invita con El “a un lugar solitario, para que descansen un poco” (Mc. 6, 30-34). Pero ¡ojo! que eso no es sólo para los Obispos, Sacerdotes y Monjas. Porque … es que todos somos apóstoles, pues Cristo nos ha encargado llevar la Palabra de Dios a todo el que pueda recibirla. Y eso es ser apóstol. Eso es evangelizar. Pero … ¿dónde vamos a encontrar los evangelizadores de hoy ese lugar solitario para descansar un poco? ¿Dónde? En la oración. Esos lugares son todos aque-llos momentos en que el Señor nos llama a orar y a estar con El a solas para des-cansar en El y para dejarnos instruir por El. En efecto, no puede haber una verdadera y eficaz evangelización sin esos mo-mentos de intimidad con Jesús, en los que nos renovamos física, emocional y espiritualmente. No puede haber una verdadera y eficaz evangelización sin esos momentos de silencio en los que profundizamos la Palabra de Dios, para irla internalizando y haciéndola vida en nosotros. Sólo así podremos comunicarla a los que quieran escuchar. Jesús es el Buen Pastor. Y, además de escoger, entrenar y cuidar a sus pastores, también se ocupa directamente de sus ovejas. Nos dice el Evangelio que, a pesar de que Jesús trató de irse en una barca a un lugar solitario con sus Apóstoles, la gente les ganó la carrera por tierra y llegaron primero que ellos al otro lado. Y Jesús viendo “una numerosa multitud que lo estaba esperando, se compadeció de ellos, porque andaban como ovejas sin pastor, y se puso a enseñarles largamen-te”. El Señor nos quiere enseñar. El Señor nos quiere hacer descansar. El Señor nos quiere preparar. ¿Cómo quiere hacerlo? En la oración. En la oración de recogi-miento. En la oración en soledad. Aprovechemos al Señor en esos momentos, para luego poder comunicar lo recibido a los demás. Así podremos cuidar el rebaño, cualquier que sea el que nos hayan asignado.

Knights of Columbus meeting will be on Sunday, August 19 at Mary Immaculate after the 10am Mass to begin about 11:15 AM. All members should try very hard to make this meeting and please try to be on time.

Father Javier will be offering a special Mass for all Knights of Columbus members of Council 12953 and their families (active members as well as those who have not been active for some time and those who would like to become mem-bers) and all other members of our community. This will be our farewell to Deacon John Mosier who's so quickly be-come a member of our little community as well as a reunifi-cation for the Knights. The Mass will be celebrated at the Mary Immaculate Church at 6 PM Tuesday August 21st and will be followed by a fellowship meal and farewell to Dea-con John in the parish hall. Current members of the council will be contacted and asked to help with the meal. A quick meeting of the Knights will follow the meal.

Please be aware that we will be starting Cate-chism Classes soon. We will be taking registra-tions in August, more details to come.

Any payment that is needed to be given for any Sacrament please pay at the office. This allows for us to keep better track of payments and allows you to

gar a tiempo.

El Padre Javier ofrecerá una Misa especial para todos los miem-bros de Caballeros de Colón del Consejo 12953 y sus familias (miembros activos, así como aquellos que no han estado activos durante un tiempo y aquellos a quienes les gustaría ser miem-bros) y todos los demás miembros de nuestra comunidad. Esto será nuestra despedida para el Diácono John Mosier, quien tan pronto se ha convertido un miembro de nuestra pequeña comu-nidad, así como en una reunificación para los Caballeros. La Misa se celebrará en la Iglesia de María Inmaculada a las 6:00 p.m. el Martes 21 de agosto y será seguida por una cena de con-fraternidad y despedida de Diacono John en el Salón de la Pa-rroquia.
