Martin Parr- New Brighton• Martin Parr a middle class man originating from Surrey who’s work is said to
contain a critical look at certain aspects of society• Parr produced a series of photographs of New Brighton, a run-down seaside resort
outside Liverpool, which was a popular working class holiday resort• The body of work was taken in 1986 when a so called battle of class was occurring
in Britain • The imagery of these works has been argued by some to reflect the spirit of
Thatcher’s Britain.
