What is Marmox® Multiboard made of ?Marmox Multiboard consists of a core of extruded polystyrene bonded between layers of fibreglass reinforcedpolymer concrete. This layer provides the perfect level of porosity to bond with tile adhesive or plaster. The extruded polystyrene layer provides insulation and makes the board completely impermeable to water. Multiboard is a lightweight, high-performance tile backerboard, used for waterproofing, dry-lining and thermalinsulation, offering the best long-term adhesion in its class.Additionally, it is a CE marked internal insulation board thatcan be plastered therefore it is an alternative to laminated

WaterproofingBeing completely waterproof, as opposed to merely water resistant, means that no water at all can be absorbed intothe core of the Multiboard. This means that they will not bend, bow or distort in the way that plasterboard can forexample. Multiboard can be used as a waterproofing tile backer board in many situations including wetrooms, steamrooms and even swimming pools.

Environment and SustainabilityOur factory operates a zero waste policy where all waste material from Marmox Multiboard production is recycled intoother less formulation critical products. In accordance with EN13164 and directive EC1272/2008, the product is notclassified as hazardous. It is HCFC and HBCD free and does not contain any REACH hazardous substances.

Marmox SoundBoard is a tile backer board which reducesthe impact noise that passes through a floor into theroom below. Like Multiboard it provides a completelywaterproof layer, secure decoupling, thermal insulationand low compressibility but with the added benefit ofeffective impact sound reduction. One side of the boardis coated with a sound attenuating layer of SBR rubber

that isolates the tiled surface from the floor so that thereis nothing for the sound waves to travel through. The rubber compound is natural so there is no plasticisermigration ensuring the material neither shrinks,degrades or becomes brittle. Marmox insulation systems

The high performance range of Marmox products provide solutions for improving the energy efficiency of

buildings. XPS (extruded polystyrene) is one of the most effective insulation materials available and also has

the added benefit that its thermal insulation properties are not affected by wet or damp conditions.

Reducing Heat Loss

Multiboard is an all-in-one solution to internal wall insulation, recommended by the Energy SavingTrust, and is able to significantly reduce heat loss through walls and is an excellent material for dry-lining. see pages 6 and 7, or for more information contact our technical department.

Thermoblock is a block of load-bearing insulation material designed to beplaced at the base of a masonry or timber–frame wall to address thethermal bridge. Its thermal conductivity is 0.047W/mK which will result ina significant reduction in y values when used at wall to floor junctions.
