Style & Design

Agricultural tractors, with their traditional appeal and fascination, have evolved through time with the emergence of increasingly refined machines able to offer users exceptional levels of efficiency, greater safety, comfort and style in keeping with a machine working within this industry and reflecting the evolution achieved in the field of automotive design. An innovation in this particular field is embodied in the new SAME AUDAX, the styling of which was entrusted to Italdesign Giugiaro.

The Italian designer was responsible for styling both the exterior of the tractor and the cab interior. The hood has been revised and embellished with graphic elements that display elegance and edge. It has also introduced a new color for rims and roofs that characterize the full range of SAME products. Great attention to aesthetic detail is highlighted by the new style of cover hubs characterized by "tiger” SAME

The most significant work was done in the cab in the effort to create a cool, functional and comfortable environment. A series of automotive concepts have been integrated, such as the road and work lights controls combined on a single panel, a redesigned operator seat and the holstered passenger seat.The cab features the use of the latest generation of compound plastics that combine high strength with easy cleaning, plus a series of soft-touch elements. On top the new mudguards form the characteristics of the new SAME range.

Engine

The new range is equipped with a Deutz TCD 6.1 with SCR technology. This new engine is a big step forward in terms of engine performance and fuel consumption. Now with the combination of Deutz engine 6.1 L06 and the SCR-technology this tractor is even further ahead the competition. The SCR technology is the most efficient technology to reach the Tier 4i exhaust gas requirements. This technology allows having an engine performance at the highest level and optimizing the engine on power and torque.As the SCR technology is a real “after-treatment-system” there are no more limitations on the engine behaviour to full fill the legal requirements.

Engine — Coolers

The new geometry cooler system is composed of the radiator equipped with, new intercooler to cool intake air, new transmission oil cooler, new fuel cooler, new air conditioning condenser and new service concept.

To clean the coolers in a simple and practical manner it is just necessary to click up in two steps the system. In this condition the cleaning is very easily in a short time. To close the package again it just has to be pushed down again.

Fuel system

The newly-designed fuel system is built up in two reservoirs. The diesel reservoir is fillablefrom both sides and offers the possibility to carry more than 510l of diesel. The tank is integrated in the tractor body. The additional AdBlue tank is on the right hand side and has got a volume of 50l. This combination guarantee a long day work.

Transmission

The new transmission of the SAME AUDAX (designed for 60 kph) is a 33/33 gears

Fullpowershift variant of SDF, including 9 creepers and enables the tractor to reach 40 km/h at super-economy engine speed or 50 km/h at economy engine speed . The 24 gear range is divided in two groups that are electro-hydraulic switchable. The APS (Automatic-Powershift-System) function provides an automatic switching of the gears depending on the engine load and the revolutions of the engine. The switching behavior can be adapted to ECO or Power drive.

All models and all versions are equipped as standard with a hydraulic Powershuttle with sensitivity control fitted as standard. With this function the operator can select 5 different response settings of the “Sense Clutch” shuttle (2 Hard – 1 Medium – 2 Soft) with just the movement of a thumbwheel. This important characteristic allows shuttle response time to be adapted to suit different working situations (such as when using a front loader) or in accordance with the gradient.

The shuttle is equipped with 2 wet multiplate clutches, one for each direction of travel, and can be used at a ground speeds of up to 13 km/h, even on a gradient: the system is controlled by means of a lever conveniently located on the steering column. The forward-reverse shuttle action is modulated, guaranteeing smooth operation under any conditions. The electronic control unit guarantees better management of the shuttle, ensuring a smoother transition between forward and reverse in both directions, which is reflected in enhanced comfort, greater operating safety, and fast response.

Transmission - Advantages

This major innovation brings a number of advantages:

• Powershift gears available for all types of field work. The working range goes from 2 km/h to 19 km/h, with a just a simple click of the joystick on the armrest;

• a top speed of 50 km/h at economy engine speed (40 km/h at super-economy enginespeed in line with applicable regulations) which makes the AUDAX ideal also for road transport duties;

• a simple system incorporating innovative features without upsetting the reliable powertrain

The main characteristics which make this transmission the last word in efficiency, expressed in an unrivalled ability to deliver power to the wheels without wasteful dispersion of energy. The complete re-engineering of the powertrain has led to improvements reflected in a reduction of power losses quantifiable at no less than 23 HP (17 kW). (In terms of fuel consumption, this corresponds to a saving of 12% with the tractor fully laden and operating in transport mode).

The changes to the powertrain that have made all this possible are: - new method of transferring oil between the gearcases;- new parking brake system.

The new transmission management system means all gear changes can be effected by a forward push of the MaxCom joystick (to shift between ranges, the operator must also press the enable button while pushing the joystick forwards). All gear changes are perfectly modulated for optimum comfort and maximum drawbar power.

Oil transfer system: The new transfer pump guarantees constant and uniform lubrication

The EPB (Electronic Park Break System) system acts directly on the rear wheel brake discs.

BRAKES

The new models are equipped with the widely appreciated servo-assisted

braking system (Powerbrake) and the new parking/emergency brake (EPB).

These two features derive directly from solutions already tried and tested in the

automotive industry.

The new Powerbrake system is, to all intents and purposes, a brake servo operating

on all four wheels. This means that the minimal operator effort exerted on the pedal is

immediately converted into a powerful and responsive braking action. This is because

the hydraulic circuit is permanently pressurized, and does not rely on mechanical force

generated through the pedal. To guarantee maximum safety in the event of system

failure, an emergency accumulator ensures up to 10 brake applications in complete

comfort and safety, even without the engine running.

In standard the tractors are fitted with an air drier. This guarantees an comfortable use especially in winter times, keeping the water out of the system. The attached filter reduces noise.

Front axle

The new transmission features also include the front axle. The new axles (designed and manufactured by SDF) were developed specifically for SAME AUDAX machines. The controls for 4WD, differential locking and ASM (automatic differentials and 4WD management) are all electrohydraulic controlled.

PTO

The tractor is equipped with 2 PTO gears with 540 Eco and 1000. This allows the drive depending on the application to drive always in an efficient way. Due to the fact that the new engine characteristics provide 15 percent more power and 18 percent more torque @ 1600 rpm compared to the previous models the use of the ECO PTO can be expanded means a further reduction of fuel consumption and the noise level in the cab.

The selection of the gears is done by a mechanical levers. The activation of the PTO and also the activation of the AUTO PTO are integrated in the new Armrest.

Hydraulics

Market-leading features are also found in the hydraulic system. The existing closed-centre 120 l/min capacity LS system has been enhanced by the addition of electro-hydraulic spool valves, affording greater precision, comfort and versatility in terms of the range of implements that can be utilized.

New features of the hydraulic system compared to the previous models:• Thermostatic valve for oil cooler that improves the perfomance and reduce engine warm up

• Identification of the quick couplings, for a better identification• Oil drain reservoir for the front coupling• A higher oil flow at lower engine rpms• Increased forced of the front lift• Integrated steering unit electronic control for “Agrosky Performance”

To offer the best use of the hydraulics, the new AUDAX tractors machines are available in different configurations, capable of meeting the broadest possible range of customer demands.

The BOSCH Rexroth electronic spool valves contain a different variety of configurations. One of the main advantages of the new spool valves is the proportional control and the high go through of up to 100l/min on one valve.

The maximum possibility is up to seven electronic controlled spool valves. The modulated block is placed in the rear. All connection covers are for a better determination colored. This makes it much easier to identify the levers for the right usage especially when the operations are swapped. The actual setting is visible in the Workmonitor, so the use of the tractor is very easy to identify.

Flow setting

The maximum flow rate and time during activation can be programmed for each auxiliary valve installed on the tractor. The maximum flow value can be set from 1 to 100% and the time from 1 to 60 sec.

• Operate the auxiliary valve control levers by pressing the unlock button.

• To enter programming mode, press the flow or time control button under the armrest. A pop up menu will appear in the Workmonitor.

• To select a valve for programming, move the corresponding control. The flow value of the selected valve (as a percentage) will change in accordance with the direction in which the control is moved (“+” direction to increase the flow or “-” direction to decrease it). The value set is shown on the Workmonitor.

• Another valve can now be programmed if necessary, by moving the corresponding control and proceeding.

• To end the procedure wait for at least 3 seconds from the most recent command or press the programming button. The settings are now memorized.

Rear hitch

SAME rear hitches have long enjoyed recognition as being the best available in terms of precision, control, and practicality in the field.The standard equipment of the new AUDAX machines includes a hitch with complete Electronic supervision and control. Thanks to the draft control with Radar (optional) the performance and precision of the operation are always consistent.

The maximum lifting capacity is 10000kg and allows to use a high variety of heavy implements.Rapid soil engagement, oscillation damping for mounted implements, position selectable transport lock, lift height limiter and rate of drop control functions are all included as standard.The rear lift operating parameters are set using the controls located on the side console, with the values displayed on the digital display or on the iMonitor 2.0.

The maximum level of wheel slip can be set on a dedicated control knob. This sophisticated system makes it possible to monitor in real time all the necessary information relative to the operation and productivity of the tractor.The key feature of the AUDAX is the DRP geometry of the hitch that optimizes the tractor in heavy pulling performances in balance and traction.

Cab

The new MaxiVision cab is the new benchmark in ergonomic and driving comfort. It is is a functional and comfortable working environment that bears the unmistakable signature of Italdesign Giugiaro.

The Maxi Vision Cab offers a very high level of technology and comfort.computerized analysis of airflows, the use of high-quality materials and the spaciousness of the cab create an inviting and comfortable working environment. The ergonomic design of the controls, the logical layout and the clearly presented information make driving the tractor that much easier

With the new MaxiView Windscreen and the large windows on the side and on the rear of the tractor the driver has the best overview around the tractor. Thanks to the new design of the bonnet also the area in front of the tractor and the front lift area can be seen very easy.

Around the tractor it is possible to mount up to 23 lights, including the new lights in the mirror for the steps and the lights in the fenders for the external control buttons. A coming home light function can switched on by pulling the indicator level two times up after switching the tractor off. Optional are rear mirrors available that are electronic settable and heatable.

iMonitor 2.0

The AUDAX can be equipped with the new 12” monitor. These Monitor can be operated as a touch screen and also with the MMI buttons. These buttons are easier to use while the tractor is working. The iMonitor is divided in 4 areas. One main screen and 3 sub screens.In this way more functions can be monitored simultaneous. Changing the position of the screens is done by holding the finger on one little screen and pull it on another one.

With the new automatic climate system the driver can set his preferred temperature that is adjusted automatically.
