More Power, Less RPMs, Longer Life...

The Century Series is Westerbeke’s answer to

the demand for low-stressed engines that have

a longer working life.

Extremely Lightweight and Compact

The Century Series engineshave some of the smallest andlightest power packages of theirtype. Westerbeke 4 and 6 cylindermodels are light, low in heightand short in length. For trawlerCaptains who can’t afford a “wetboat,” these lightweight enginesallow for more cargo. For exam-ple, the 110-T4 produces 110horsepower but weighs only 987 pounds (448 kilos)!

Smooth and Quiet OperationThe Century Series engines

are equipped with four-point, fail-safe, vibration mounts thatprovide optimum vibration damp-ening. Also, an air intake with filter provides increased powerwhile diminishing sound.

EngineNaturally aspirated and turbo

charged 4.3 and 6.5 liter enginespower the Century Series. Boththe cylinder head and block arecast iron while the crankshaft ismade of pressed forged high car-bon steel, high frequency hard-ened, for additional strength.Replaceable chromium plated,dry cylinder liners contribute toan extended engine life. Glowplugs aid cold weather starting.An easily accessible oil drain hoseassists with routine maintenance.

2400 and 2500-rpm putting less stress on the

engine while providing optimum power. The

Safety DevicesAll Century

Series engines areequipped with low oil pressureand high coolant temperaturealarms and are pre-wired for aplug-in connection to an Admiralinstrument panel. Additional safety devices include fail-safemounts and an oil bypass alarm.

Cupro-Nickel Heat ExchangerAll Century Series engines are

fresh water cooled with a stan-dard cupro-nickel heat exchangerthat mounts directly to theunderside of the water-jacketed

exhaust mani-fold for moreefficient cooling.This uniqueWesterbekedesign and theuse of cast aluminum pipingminimizes the use of hose connec-tions in the cooling system, providing added reliability andreduced maintenance.

Durable Anti-Corrosive PaintWesterbeke’s new paint

system now offers increasedresistance to the harsh marineenvironment through the use ofan iron phosphate pre-treatment,a non-chrome sealer and aspecial high gloss acrylic enamel.Westerbeke’s system is not onlydurable but environmentallyfriendly. The paint and sealersmeet state and federal clean airand water standards.
