exciting tour featuring Strasbourg and
the romantic Rhine Valley. This
journey brings you through one of the
most historic and dramatic regions in
all of Europe.
Day 2: Tuesday, September 17, 2019 Amsterdam, Netherlands - Board Ship - Tour Begins Your tour opens in
Amsterdam where you will board
your ship for a 7-night cruise along
the Rhine River. Your ship offers an
array of amenities including outside
staterooms, unlimited wine with every
dinner, and daily onboard musical

Day 3: Wednesday, September 18, 2019 Amsterdam Join a local expert
for a city tour of Amsterdam including
a cruise along the city’s centuries-
old canal system. Board your canal

famous 16th-century row houses

Day 4: Thursday, September 19, 2019 Cologne, Germany As you glide
down the river this morning, pass
through the picturesque German
landscape dotted with medieval towns.
Your journey brings you to Cologne
where you will join a guide for a
walking tour of the city’s Old Town with its narrow, cobbled streets.
Admire the Cologne Cathedral, as
well as the Roman Dionysus mosaic
and the Romanesque church of St.

Day 5: Friday, September 20, 2019 Moselle River - Cochem Set sail on
the Moselle River to Cochem where
you will join a guided tour through
this lovely town and Reichsburg
Castle. The castle is set on a
precipitous rock high above the town
and offers breathtaking views of the
Moselle Valley. End your tour of
Cochem with an introduction by a
local winemaker to one of Cochem’s
wine cellars where you will taste

Day 6: Saturday, September 21, 2019 Koblenz - Rüdesheim Continue on to
Koblenz and get to know this 2,000-
year-old city on a walking tour. See
such sights as the town’s old quarter,
which was badly damaged during
World War II and then rebuilt, as well
as the Schaengel Fountain at the town
hall. Your next stop is Rüdesheim. Set
out on a tour of the city and its
famous Siegfried’s Mechanisches
Musikkabinett (or Mechanical Music
Museum) where you will be treated to
the music of barrel organs and

Day 7: Sunday, September 22, 2019 Mannheim - Speyer The river takes
you to Mannheim where you will have
free time to explore the city on your
own. Or, perhaps you will join an
optional excursion to the town of
Heidelberg. Later, sail to Speyer, one
of Germany’s oldest cities, and step
back in time on a walking tour to
explore such places as the Old Gate
and the Jewish baths. A wonderful
evening of food, music and
entertainment awaits you at the

Day 8: Monday, September 23, 2019 Strasbourg, France Your journey takes
you to Strasbourg, a provincial capital
of France that blends centuries of
Roman, French, German and Alsatian
influences together, creating a unique
character. Discover the history of the
city on a guided tour of the old
quarter, "Petite France," featuring
the Cathedral of Notre Dame.
Highlights also include Place de la
République and Place d’Austerlitz.
You will have free time to explore this
perfectly preserved town before

Day 9: Tuesday, September 24, 2019 Disembark-Basel, SW- Colmar, France- Black Forest, Germany -Zurich, SW Today is filled with
exploration! Disembark your ship in
Basel, Switzerland and travel to the
Alsace wine region to spend time in
beautiful Colmar. Step back in time
with a local guide on a walking tour of
the Old Town highlighting its many
architectural landmarks. Enjoy some
free time to explore this charming city
on your own. Next, drive to Titisee, a
German resort town nestled alongside
its picturesque lake hidden deep in the
Black Forest. Savor some leisure time
to browse the shops for the region’s
famous cuckoo clocks. You’ll have an
opportunity to meet a local artisan
who demonstrates how these cuckoo
clocks are made with traditional
techniques. Then, enjoy a dinner of
Black Forest regional specialties
before arriving at your Zurich airport

To know the Rhine River is to know Europe. Running from the Swiss Alps through
Germany, this vital waterway eventually flows into the North Sea. Historically important
and visually stunning, the Rhine provides the perfect ‘"highway’" from which to explore
the heart of the Old World. From your cruise ship you will see fairy-tale castles, endless
vineyards and ancient cities. Legendary landmarks like Lorelei Rock, which soars high
above the river, complete a perfect picture. Travel from Amsterdam, Netherlands to
Basel, Switzerland in style. Along the way you gain a new perspective that only a river
and land travel experience can offer.
Please Note: This itinerary is subject to change due to unforeseen changes in water levels, delays at the locks and other circumstances that may arise along the waterways. These changes may include items being missed during the tour; however, every effort will be made to substitute another attraction if possible.
To complete your tour, we include roundtrip airport-to-hotel transfers when purchasing our airfare with your tour. If you have arranged for your own air, we are pleased to provide you the option of purchasing these transfers. Please note that all transfers will leave at pre-scheduled times.
Cabins are available on lower (Haydn), middle (Strauss) and upper (Mozart) decks. Please note that river cruises are smaller ships and only have a finite number of each cabin category available. Specific categories are available on a first come, first served basis. Every effort will be made to accommodate your cabin choice at time of reservation; however, if that cabin category is no longer available, the closest available category will be offered. Please inquire through our Client Care Center for any upgrade fees which will apply for different cabin categories. Suites are available (Amadeus Suites) on a very limited basis.
Gratuities for cabin stewards, bus boys and waiters on board the ship are not included.
Single accommodations are extremely limited. Triple and child accommodations are not available.
Ports of call are subject to change based on pier availability and weather conditions.
Coffee or tea is included at all meals. Wine, beer and soda are included with each dinner onboard the ship.
Smart casual wear is recommended throughout the trip. For the welcome and farewell dinners, a dinner dress for ladies and jacket and tie for gentlemen is recommended. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended throughout the trip.
This tour includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected.
The cruise line reserves the right to charge a supplemental fuel charge. Should this charge be incurred, you will be notified in advance.
Please be advised many airlines do not provide advance seat assignments until check-in at the airport. Advance seating will be subject to the airline's terms and conditions.
Air passengers will arrive into Amsterdam, Netherlands airport and depart from Zurich, Switzerland airport. All transfers will depart from/return to these airports.
Embarkation on day 2 is upon arrival; however, cabins will not be ready for check in until after 3:00 p.m.; on day 9, disembarkation is normally at 10:00 a.m.
Economy air rate and schedule are applicable for groups of 10 or more traveling on the same flights and dates.
