A Note from the Pastor...
I shared this story with the congregation during my message on Sunday, May 31th. I heard it while driv-
ing up to the church on SPIRIT 105.3.
A young man was about to graduate. Thinking about what gifts he might like to mark this occasion. He
visited a local car dealership and spotted the car of his dreams. Seeing that his father was a very success-
ful and wealthy man, the son shared his graduation gift wish. On the day of his graduation, the son was
invited into his father’s study where his father expressed his deep pride and love he had for his son. He
then handed his son a gift wrapped box. The son was a little surprised (too small for the desired and re-
quested sports car), but curious, he opened the box to find in it a beautiful leather bonded Bible with his
name inscribed in gold lettering. We would hope on this occasion, all goes well and smoothly. This was
not the case here and this occasion. The son became very angry and standing up he shouted at father,
“With all your wealth and money, all you could get me was this Bible!” With that he stormed out of his
father’s study and the house. He did not return that night, nor the next day or the next. In fact he never
returned home. That day he became estranged from his father.
Over the years the son became quite successful in his business. And after all the years of estrangement,
the son began to have thoughts of his father. He began to think that he should visit his father especially
since he had heard that his father’s health was not too good. But before he made up his mind to actually
visit his father, word came to him that his father had died. A few days after the funeral, the son was look-
ing through his father’s important papers and things. There he found the Bible his father had tried to give
him on his graduation day. As the son now thumbed through it pages, he came across certain passages
his father had carefully marked and highlighted. As he lifted up the Bible something fell out on to the ta-
ble. You guessed it – it was a key from that same car dealership for that desired sports car. Also on the
key ring was a note in his father’s handwriting: “PAID IN FULL”.
I mentioned that I was glad I was driving on a vacant street at the time, for I had to stop for a moment,
wipe a few tears from in my eyes and gather myself before continuing up to the church. What hit me was
that phrase, “PAID IN FULL” and realizing that is exactly what my Heavenly Father has done for me in
my life and says it over and over to me in His Word, the gospel of Jesus and the in the voice of His Spirit.
All that is needed for a life and relationship with God has been PAID IN FULL by God for me and for
each of us. Thank you Heavenly Father.
Happy Father’s Day and Peace,
Pastor Rob

SERMONS & SCRIPTURE– JUNE, 2015
June 7th Celebrating the Lord’s Supper
“Showing Our Love” 1 John 5:1-5 June 14th “Testimony By Three” 1 John 5:6-12 June 21st “Confidence!” 1 John 5:13-15 On June 28th, we begin a new message series entitled “Living in the Power Zone”. The Bible tells us that, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline”. (2Timothy 1:7) As believers, we are reminded that “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength”. (Philippians 4:13) Join Pastor Rob on Sunday mornings for this series of messages and look at how we can live our lives in and through the power of God.

HAVE YOU SEEN IT?
MWPC’s “Little Free Library”.
It’s a “take a book, return a
book” gathering place where
neighbors share their favorite
literature and stories. In its
most basic form, a “Little Free
Library” is a box full of books
where anyone can stop by and
pick up a book (or two) and
bring back another book to
share. You can, too!
