March 9, 2015 l Millarville Community School 130 Millarville Road 403-938-7832 http://millarville.fsd38.ab.ca Principal’s Message On February 26 th the whole school took to the air to show their support for the Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart! Our energetic grade 8s took the lead and ran centers for the rest of the school to try out different styles of rope jumping. Thanks to our grade 8s for their hard work on this day! Most of all, thank you to our community who was able to raise almost $4000 for this charity! You blew our goal of $500 out of the park! Gifts for those students who raised the various benchmarks will be here soon from the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Last month all of our staff and students in grades 4-8 took our annual Tell Them from Me Accountability survey. These results and those from our monthly survey go a long way to helping us learn and grow as a learning community. The cupid pictured to the left is a motif of your responses to the question that asked for one word to describe your child’s experience this month at MCS. We also asked some questions regarding technology. As we look forward to the next two years, we would like to strategically plan with our families, students and teachers how we will approach technology purchases and needs in our building.
